"Overdrive" MISD's PK-12 Digital Library...I had no idea!

Summer Reading Just Got Easier!

McKinney ISD provides all students in grades PK-12 with access to digital library books any time, any place! Students in MISD can use their own computer or device to check out and read their favorite books wherever they are. Our Overdrive library contains both fiction and non-fiction and is searchable by subject, title, author, interest level etc. Overdrive is a great tool to use for summer reading or any time your student is looking for something interesting to read. Students can login to Overdrive with THIS LINK and enter their MISD username and password. Get started with Overdrive tonight. A world of reading is waiting for you!

  • Hide It Pro-

    Users can hide pictures and videos behind a lock screen and can create multiple photo and video albums and email them to others from inside the app. The app automatically locks when users exit it, and it also includes a code-enabled feature that makes the app appear empty if someone finds it and knows what it does.

  • Whisper-
    Whisper is an anonymous social networking app. Users post confessions, either fact or fiction, by super imposing text on a picture. Whisper’s unique selling point is that it is completely anonymous, with users issued a random nickname upon joining. The fact that Whisper has its own gallery of photos and fonts to choose from again helps protect the anonymity of users.

  • Hi Calculator-
    The app’s description indicates it “ can hide your photos and videos behind a calculator.” Parents, teachers and other adults are likely to pass over the app without realizing it. Users create a lock code for accessing.

Camp Converge- MISD Innovation Conference

MISD's annual Converge Innovation Conference will be held June 21-22 at McKinney Boyd High School. This conference is a gathering of adult learners from across MISD and surrounding districts. We come together to learn about new and innovative tools, strategies and ideas to engage 21st century PK-12 students. We invite parents and our community to participate with us and to learn more about student engagement supported by technology in the classroom.
