Special Announcement from Mrs. Toth & the Class of 2020

The class of 2020 will be hosting a Family Fun Day and Chili Cook Off this Saturday, October 5, 2019, 3:00 - 6:00 pm at Backer Farm, right here in Mendham! The weather looks great, so please join us for this festive fall event. Proceeds will benefit the 8th grade class trip to Washington, D.C.

Pre-registration will remain open until Friday, October 4.

A few highlights:

1. If you've got the knack for flavor, go for it, and enter your best chili! If you've got a crafty baker in the house, make sure to sign up for the coolest cake contest (open to grades K-8)!

2. Live music/DJ, hayrides, pumpkin drawing craft, fire pit and s'mores, hot dogs, snacks and cider, beer cups to purchase, and of course, plenty of chili and cake desserts.

3. Chili and Cake prize winners - Judges to include, Mrs. Toth, Mr. Zangara and class Vice President, Rachel Havey.

4. People's Choice Judges - that is ALL of you, who attend.

5. Silent Auction Baskets!

6. Tons of family fun!

Announcements & Updates

- Beginning October 8, the Lions' Den will be open for students on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Please see the September 23 Weekly Update for a flyer containing specific details.

- Don't miss your chance to support the Class of 2020 as they raise funds for the annual 8th grade trip to Washington, D.C. Click here for information on an upcoming proceeds night at Piattino (10/21) and here to order your holiday wreath from Hidden Pond Tree Farm (order deadline is 10/18).

- Administration would like to again remind students and parents of the importance of bicycle and pedestrian safety. In the past week, both teachers and parents have witnessed students riding in the middle of the street, cutting across traffic, and riding on school property. When walking/biking to school, please remember to use the designated crosswalks. New Jersey's bicycle helmet law states that individuals under the age of 17 must wear a safety helmet. In addition, we kindly ask that students walk their bikes to the rack once on school property and refrain from riding on the sidewalks.
