This week, 3rd-5th grade students will participate in Winter State Growth Assessments.

BES Winter Program
Student of the Month
Student of the month is back! Every month, one student from each grade level will be selected as student of the month. Students are nominated by teachers and staff for showing SOAR expectations. Winners will receive a shout out on the announcements, a goody bag, and a special sign in their yard! Be on the lookout in the next weekly update for our December winners.

Winter Coat Drive
All five of our schools have been collecting gently used winter coats and jackets over the past 2 weeks as part of our Winter Coat Drive. We have received a considerable amount of donated coats and jackets and would like to give these coats to students in need. If your child is in need of a winter coat or jacket, please complete this form so that we can assist you. Please contact our school social worker, Kristin Dunnigan (kdunnigan@glnd.k12.va.us), with any questions or concerns.
Winter Hat, Mitten & Scarf Collections
BES will be collecting new (or gently used) scarves, mittens/gloves & hats for those that may otherwise be cold. Bring your donations to the boxes in the 5th grade hallway by December 15. Thank you to 5th grade for organizing another opportunity to help our community.
Reminders
If you wish to volunteer, eat lunch with your child, or enter the school building in any capacity, you must check in at the front office with your driver's license! We cannot let anyone in the building without checking their driver's license. This is to keep our students and staff safe. Thank you for understanding!
- If you need to pick up your student in the office, please do so before 2pm! Pickup after 2pm should be done through the car rider line.
