COVID- 19- When to Keep Your Child Home
Dear Parents/Guardians,
As we continue the school year, we need your help and cooperation during this worldwide health emergency. We are asking parents/guardians to conduct a daily wellness screen of their children prior to sending them to school. Our goal is to successfully continue to keep students, staff and families healthy and safe by reducing the spread of COVID-19.
Decisions about when to keep your child home from school should consider the following symptom sets. A 10-day quarantine (OR a quarantine until negative COVID PCR test results are obtained) is directed when an individual has one symptom from column one, OR two symptoms from column two, OR severe respiratory illness and a symptom from column three.
In addition, please do not send your child to school if they have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 10 days, are themselves awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test or have received a positive test result before their 10-day quarantine has ended.
Regardless of whether COVID is suspected, a student who is not feeling well enough to learn should be kept home until they feel well enough to participate in school.
· Fever- If your student has a temperature greater than 100°F, he/she should stay home for 24 hours fever free without medication before returning to school.
· Diarrhea- Keep your student home until his/her stools are formed and your healthcare provider has cleared him/her to return to school. Make sure your child stays well hydrated.
· Vomiting- Your student needs to stay home if they've vomited twice or more in the last 24 hours. He/she is able to return to school after symptoms are gone and/or your healthcare provider states he/she is no longer contagious.
· Sore throats- If your student has been diagnosed with strep throat he/she needs to stay home for 24 hours after starting antibiotics and no longer has a fever.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
All individuals on LCPS campus must wear a mask, thank you for your cooperation with this matter.
Parent pickup/drop off is done in the east parking lot by the field, please do not drive into the front staff/visitor parking lot for pick up/drop off. The lanes in the front of the school are designated for buses and we cannot have traffic in the front parking lot.
All bus riders and walkers coming from Walnut, enter and exit the building through the front gates near the marquee in front of the school.
All other walkers and students being dropped off/pick up students enter and exit the building from the East gate off the field.
We ask that all walkers please use the crosswalks, especially on Spruce Ave. There is a lot of traffic on Spruce and we want our students to cross safely.
