The Walden Philanthropy Club is excited to run a book drive for Rufino Tamayo Elementary School in Chicago. It is a K-8 Acero CPS school. They do not have a school library on site, so our book donations will help over 300 kids have access to books to take home.

The book drive is running Tuesday, September 27 through Friday, October 7.

Please make sure to donate gently used, good-condition books. Please no religious, ripped, stained, highlighted, or annotated books.

The Book Fair will take place on October 12th and 13th in the Walden Gym. Sales will start after school and go until 7:30 both nights! Children will have a chance to preview the books during the day with their classes.

Cash, check, charge and Scholastic e-wallet will be accepted.

Join us for Walden’s Outdoor Movie Night!

Bring a blanket and chairs and enjoy an evening of fun, food and friends. Cheese pizza, popcorn, cotton candy, movie candy, water and juice boxes will be for sale. Please register here. Sweet Treats are back! Four times throughout the school year, families will be offered the opportunity to purchase a “sweet treat” to be delivered to their student(s).

Our first treat is from Nothing Bundt Cake and will be given out at the end of the school day on Friday, October 28th.

Purchase here by October 17th and support the Walden PTO and a great Deerfield-owned business.
