April is National Arab American Heritage Month, Child Abuse Prevention Month, Keep America Beautiful Month, School Library Month, Drop Everything and Read Month, Counseling Awareness Month and Community Service Month.

Title 1 Pre-K application deadline is April 3

Applications for Title I Pre-K for the 2023-2024 school year are now being accepted. Applications can be picked up from your school of choice during the regular school day and should be returned no later than April 3, 2023.

The Public Schools of Robeson County is working to improve communication on buses throughout the district as part of a more than $1 million grant from NCDPI’s Center for Safer Schools. The project has consisted of installing antennas on yellow buses throughout the district. In the coming months, radios will be installed. Click here for more.

We are thrilled to announce our second STEAM Day for Multilingual Families with students in grades pre-K-6 will take place at the School of Education of UNCP on Saturday, April 22 from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

This year's event will be the result of a collaborative experience with Bladen County and two Science institutions located in Australia. They are KIOSC (Knox Innovation Opportunity and Sustainability Centre) and AIME (Imagi-NATION).

PSRC Indian Education students (one from each high school) and Indian Education personnel attended the NC UNITY Conference in Raleigh, NC on March 9 – 11, 2023. Students enrolled in the Indian Education Program were encouraged to participate in the NC UNITY Art and Writing competition; as a result, there were 69 pieces of artwork and 19 writing prompts submitted to NC UNITY. We had many first, second, third and honorable mention place winners but we celebrate all of our students for their hard work; we are so proud of them! Kaylee Chavis, a student at Lumberton Senior, was recognized as the 2023 United Tribes of NC Distinguished American Indian High School Student. We also had eight scholarship winners from Robeson County! Once again, we are so proud of our students and their accomplishments! (Source: PSRC Indian Education)
