Report Cards go home Thursday 12/21/23
The Manchester School District utilizes a standards-based report card. Standards-based grading is an effective method for assessing your child's understanding of specific learning targets, referred to as standards. With this approach, scores are not simply averaged over the grading period. Instead, it identifies what your child has mastered or can demonstrate in relation to these standards. Various tools are used throughout the year to provide an accurate picture of their learning progress. Please keep in mind that at this point in the school year, it may be typical for students to be progressing towards a standard. If you have any questions regarding your child's report card, please do not hesitate to contact their teacher.

Winter Concert 12/21/23
We are excited to see you on Thursday for our Winter Concert, which will showcase the students' hard work in music class throughout the first trimester of school. If you plan on attending, please note that the school doors will not open until 1:20. If you arrive early, please wait outside and do not block the doorbell or the first door to the building. The concert should conclude around 2:30. If you plan to dismiss your child when the concert is over, you must send a note to the school in the morning so we can have their things prepared. It takes our students a lot of time to transition out of an assembly, and they will not be ready before normal dismissal time if you don't send in a note. Thank you for your cooperation.
Guest performers visiting this week.
On Tuesday, John Farrell, an internationally acclaimed songwriter, author, and peace educator, will perform for our Kindergarten, first, and second-grade students. He'll be conducting an assembly program that focuses on understanding, empathy, nature, and literacy, among other things. John has visited more than 1500 schools in 25 countries around the world.
This Thursday morning, our students will have the opportunity to witness an inspiring circus act performed by Jacob, the son of Mrs. Crow. Jacob's act is a testament to the power of a growth mindset, showcasing years of dedication and training in circus arts. His performance proves that with hard work and perseverance, one can achieve their dreams and become who they aspire to be.

December's Show Up Class Competition
For the month of December, the class with the least amount of unexcused absences will win the competition along with an award. However, it is important for students to stay home if they are sick. If your child is sick, they should stay home until they are free from fever, vomiting, and diarrhea for 24 hours without taking medication. If your child is going to stay home, please inform the school so we can excuse their absence.
Missing School: It Adds Up!
When your child attends school regularly and on time, they have the opportunity to excel academically and to establish a positive daily routine for learning.
Regular attendance allows for students to be involved in lessons, develop relationships with their peers, and make the most out of their education. It also gives the teacher the opportunity to assess each student and effectively plan ahead.
Excessive absences can lead to students missing out on important information or falling behind in their learning. Regular school attendance is an important indicator of your child's performance and success as they grow. Simply put, absences add up.
