No School on Monday, February 15

District:

Dr. Atwell will send out the school closing via text, email, DragonsLink App, and phone call to households in the district who provided contact information when registering students.
The closing will be posted to Facebook and as an alert on the school website.
The closing will be called in to local TV stations.

Mountainburg Elementary:

An AMI assignment for Wednesday, February 10 was sent home with the students on Thursday, February 11.
AMI Assignments will be handed out the day students return to school.

Mountainburg Middle School:

AMI Packets with assignments for up to 3 days were sent home with 5th-8th grade students on Friday.
In the event school is closed beyond Wednesday, additional AMI assignments will be handed out when we return to school.

Mountainburg High School:

AMI Packets with assignments for up to 3 days were sent home with students who do not have Internet access.
In the event school is closed beyond Wednesday, additional AMI assignments will be handed out when we return to school.
All other students took their Chromebooks home. Students will need to check their email, Google Classroom, and Edgenuity for assignments.
If students have questions, please email the appropriate teacher of the class.

School Board Meeting

The Feb 15 board meeting will be held at 7:30 in the MHS cafeteria, unless roads are hazardous, then a Zoom meeting will be held.

Pageant Paperwork is Due Friday, February 19

This Miss Mountainburg Youth Pageants and Miss Mountainburg Pageant for 2021 will be on Friday, March 12 and Saturday, March 13.

All forms will need to be downloaded as either Google Docs and a copy made to be completed or printed off and submitted.

Please Note: Due to the pandemic, the Pageants will be held in Carl D. Rogers Gymnasium and seating will be provided for contestants' parents only. The pageants will be broadcast through the school's YouTube Channel.

This is the final installment of our adventures with Blue and Otis. Our crew runs into trouble when Fitz, someone else who comes to the area searching for treasure, finds out that they are all looking for the same thing. Fitz tries to scare them off, but Jules is used to dealing with celebrities, and isn't fooled. Who will find the lost treasure first?

This coming week was scheduled to be the Sr. High District Tournament; however, at this time due to the winter storm, it looks like the games will have to be re-scheduled. We will get information out as soon as it becomes available.

2021-2022 Scheduling will begin next week -

(Dates are tentative and subject to change due to

unexpected circumstances such as Covid and weather)

All students are asked to watch emails closely and join the counselor’s

(Barbara Daniel) Google Classroom.

*Invites have been sent to students’ emails and a “re-invite” will be emailed the Friday before each grade level’s week to schedule.

Dates for Scheduling:

February 15 - February 19 -- all 8th graders to-be 9th grade *Pending if we are in school*
February 24 - March 1 -- all 11th graders to be SENIORS

Each week, students will bring home a list of the courses that have chosen for their 21-22 schedule. This form needs to be signed by a parent and returned to the student's Grind teacher as soon as possible.

Other Information:

All juniors have the opportunity to take the ACT free of charge on February 23
WATC and Concurrent credit courses require a qualifying ACT or ACT Aspire score
Any current 10th grader interested in WATC or Concurrent College courses next year should register for an ACT test this spring.
