The first quarter has flown by at Maple Grove! Thank you all for sharing your child with us every day! We are so lucky to be in the business of educating the youth of Warrensburg.

A Few Reminders:

• Friday, October 13th is the end of the First Quarter. It is an early release day at 1:40pm.
• Send jackets with students, morning recess can still be a bit cool.
• If your student is not feeling well or is running a fever, please keep them home.
• Please do not send medicine to school with your child - all medicine must be brought in to school and given to Nurse Kaytee by parents (prescription and non-prescription medicines.)
• Birthday Snacks: Your child may bring in a special treat for their birthday. Popular snacks are sugar free popsicles and sugar free fudgsicles. Please use the link to access the Smart Snack List.

The fall parties will be on Tuesday, October 31. Please remember a few things when choosing your child's Halloween costume. Maple Grove has a no blood/no weapon policy. We highly discourage gory or scary costumes. The students can wear their costume to school, but please leave masks at home. However, if the costume is too tight or too complicated to take on or off when using the restroom, the kids get frustrated. We want this to be a fun day for all!

PTO will be sending out a sign up for treats to be sent in for Fall Parties. Please be looking for this. All treats will need to be prepackaged and from a state inspected kitchen. Thank you for your help making our Fall Parties an exciting time for all!

Please join us on Friday, October 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Warrensburg High School Activities Complex to watch the Warrensburg Tigers take on the Clinton High School Cardinals! Maple Grove students will sit together until the end of the 3rd quarter and cheer on the Tigers. Please bring your lawn chairs and blankets to sit on during the game. Please DO NOT bring any footballs or other toys to throw during the game. Students and two adults will be admitted for free. Students MUST have an adult with them at the game. The picture below shows where you need to enter the game in order to not have to pay for the adults and where we will be sitting during the game.

We practice a variety of safety drills throughout the year in case there were to be an emergency. We have already had our first fire drill (September 14) and the students did a great job! We were all out of the building and accounted for in less than 10 minutes! We will be doing tornado, earthquake, and intruder drills. We are aware that these drills can cause fear, so we want to be as transparent as possible with families in case they want to discuss these scenarios with their child.
