No-Shave November

Semso's birthday would have been on November 9th and the month of November happens to be cancer awareness month. To honor Semso and promote cancer awareness, you are invited to participate in No-Shave November: "No-Shave November is a month-long journey during which participants forgo shaving and grooming in order to evoke conversation and raise cancer awareness. Learn more about how you can get involved and start getting hairy!"

Parent Events

Holiday Bonanza

CMPG is currently looking for vendors for our annual Holiday Bonanza that will take place on Friday Dec 7th and Saturday Dec 8th. This event is a fun shopping event that raises money for our classrooms! If you make something, bake something or sell something you can participate! Students are encouraged to participate also!

Tables are $25-35 for traditional vendors and $5 for student vendors. If you would like more information, want to apply to have a spot at the event or want to pass the information on to someone else who might be interested, please email Jen Speers at mrsspeers@msn.com.


2018 Christkindlemarket - Cowles Beverage Sales

Do you love serving beverages at the Arts Festival and volunteering to benefit Cowles? Well, guess what? You don’t have to wait until June for another opportunity! Cowles has been invited to be the first non-profit organization to participate in the fun and festive Christkindlemarket in Cowles Commons. The event will be held Friday, November 30th - Sunday, December 2nd. Cowles volunteers will be selling Glühwein & Kinderpunsch at a high volume stand and will be compensated with tips and a portion of sale profits. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to raise significant additional general (non-arts related) funds and to help Cowles become established as a partner in a successful and growing Des Moines festival.


If you are a veteran Arts Festival volunteer and have already received beverage sale training you do not need anything additional for this event. New volunteers will need to complete an online I-PACT training session before November 30th.
