Harford County Public Library -- Most Storytimes will have a fall theme, with some branches planning special events, like Whiteford's Harvest Story Time on Oct 12th, Havre de Grace's Halloween Hullabaloo on Oct 13th, Norrisvile's Looking at Leaves on Oct 18th, and Abingdon's Pumpkin Painting Story Time on Oct 20th. Thank you to all who responded to our invitation to the I&T Fall Hayride at Lohr's Orchard. We had a wonderful response and registration is now closed. For families that did register for the event, reminders will be sent as we get closer to the date. We look forward to seeing you at the orchard.

Fall means cooler weather, leaves changing, hayrides.... and the Family Survey! Family members of children receiving services through Infants & Toddlers are invited to complete a survey from the Maryland State Department of Education. It is multiple-choice and asks about the impact of early intervention services on your family.

You will be receiving a paper copy of a survey, but did you know you can also fill it out online? It takes 5 minutes to complete! To access the survey online, click here.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated. Just remember, the survey closes on November 11th.

SECAC, which stands for Special Education Citizens Advisory Committee, is for families, students, educators, administrators and community partners. Meetings are typically the first Thursday of the month. The virtual link opens at 6:30 for social discussion and the meeting runs from 7:00-8:30.

Mrs. Speechie P's blog recently shared Help Your Toddler Talk: Morning Routine. It focuses on modeling language for your child during the morning routine. There are lots of tips and suggestions!!

Do you have a child with an autism diagnosis? Growing on the Spectrum - Harford County is a local support group that offers resources, monthly meet ups, mom's night out, and so much more. In their words, "we believe in creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome no matter where they are in their Autism journey."

There is a big change in Maryland's child passenger safety laws. Starting October 1, 2022, children must be kept rear-facing until at least two years of age, unless the child meets or exceeds the height and weight on the seat’s guidelines.

If you have questions or concerns about your child's safety in a vehicle or would like to have your car seat checked, reach out to Upper Chesapeake's HealthLink at 1-800-515-0044.

Partners for Success is part of Harford County Public Schools and works with families of school-aged children. Rachel Trovato, Coordinator for Partners for Success, provides information about community services, assists families in resolving concerns, and helps to increase parental involvement in the special education decision making process.

LOCATE is a free service to help you find child care. You can search their site, or speak with a referral specialist by calling 877-261-0060 during business hours. They can help you identify child care options in your area based on your family's specific needs.

Trying to figure out if you should made a doctor's appointment? Go to Urgent Care? Or even when you should go to the Emergency Room? Our friends at University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake shared the flyers below. They're a great resource for knowing what to do when your child is sick.

Parents who are concerned about their child has developmental delays can self-refer to Infants & Toddlers. Referrals are made by either calling our office at 410-638-3823 or submitting an online form. For more information and link to the form, click here.

2-1-1 Maryland is a resource that brings together four agencies to provide simple access to health and human services information. What can they help with? Affordable housing, food, employment training, utility payment assistance, services for their children or aging parents, and many other issues. The 2-1-1 database has information on nearly 5,000 agencies and programs across the state of Maryland.

Help is available 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Just call 2-1-1.

Harford County Infants & Toddlers provides early intervention services and supports to eligible children with developmental delays and their families. Services are provided at no cost to families. Infants & Toddlers is a part of Harford County Public Schools.
