The Spirit Store will remain open until Friday, September 2nd. These shirts may be worn daily with uniform pants. Place your orders at http://stores.inksoft.com/port_barre_elem_22-23

Once these orders arrive, previous year's spirit shirts may only be worn on Friday's.

Kona Ice will be on campus Friday, September 2. Prices range from $3 - $6. Please note that there is no longer a $2 cup. If you purchase a color changing cup or a collectible cup, students may refill them for $3 each time you see a Kona Ice truck.

All St. Landry Parish Schools and offices will be closed on Monday, September 5, 2022 in observance of Labor Day.

Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school--and themselves. Start building this habit in PreK so they learn right away that going to school on time, every day is important.

School starts at 7:45 a.m. and ends at 3:05 p.m. Our goal is 95% on time attendance every day. Help us achieve this goal!

At the beginning of the year, the car rider drop off and pick up line is extremely long. Please have patience as we are working as efficiently as possible. Please follow the red path in the picture. Turn on Pacific St. Go all the way down to the second stop sign. Turn left back on OG and file in line. Please do not sit at the stop sign. If the line is past the stop sign, turn right and turn around in the stadium parking lot.

Friday, September 2...students may wear blue jeans for $1.00, boots for $1.00, and/or hats for $1.00. Jeans should not have holes and/or rips in which you can see the skin underneath. Students may not wear jean shorts.

As we begin this new school year, the health and safety of all students and staff remain our top concern. Louisiana Department of Health has extended the incentive testing opportunity for the 2022-2023 school year to ensure the continued safety of our schools.

Our campus will participate in the voluntary, weekly COVID-19 testing program to help keep our school community safe and allow us to have regular in-person learning. By identifying infections early, weekly testing will continue to keep transmission low and students in school for in-person learning, sports, and extracurricular activities.

Even if you were signed up last year, everyone needs to re-register this school year.

Water fountains will be used this school year. You may still send your child with a water bottle to school. We have two water refillng stations on campus in which they can refill their bottles throughout the day.

At this time, we do not have concession available for students. Please send your student to school with a snack for recess. Snacks may not contain any type of nuts.

All PBES students are issued ID badges. The ID will be clipped on to the student's uniform shirt. Replacement badges will cost $5.00. If the child does not have their badge beginning Aug 22, students will receive a temporary badge and will be charged $1.00 per temporary badge issued.

Student Registration fees for the 22-23 school year are $20.00. The fee is due to the homeroom teacher by October 31, 2022. For your convenience, you may pay through the online portal at the website below. You will need to create an account and add your student to the account. If it asks for a Student ID, please put 000. If you need any assistance, please contact the school at 585-6172.

Student Technology Fees are $20.00 per student. This fee covers the use of the chromebooks in the classroom and if any damage occurs to the chromebook while your child is using it.
