Mountain View Weekly Update
January 6
Announcements & Updates
- In Advisory today, students discussed the importance of proper self-care and how to cope when they feel overwhelmed or experience other strong emotions like anxiety, sadness or stress. They reviewed healthy living strategies, including getting enough sleep, exercising regularly, and spending time doing activities they enjoy to boost self-esteem. Finally, students completed a worksheet entitled "My Coping Strategies Survival Guide" to help them identify positive coping skills they can utilize when needed. Some suggestions include: doing something physical or relaxing, using positive self talk, visualizing their "happy place," or talking with a trusted adult. Ask your child about what they added to their survival guide so you can model, reinforce and practice healthy coping skills together as a family at home.
- HSA-sponsored Winter Enrichment Clubs are open for sign up January 5 through January 25. Mountain View will offer Volleyball, Theatre Troupe, Field Hockey, and Art Service.
