End of Year Student Expectations
Dear Horning Families,
As we work through the last quarter of the school year, we ask families to continue to help their students be cognizant of the high expectations we continue to have regarding student behavior and responsibilities. Below is a list of behavioral expectations that we need your assistance with. Please take a moment to review this information with your student.
Conflict Management
Talk to a trusted adult
Report to the administration/ speak to a counselor for mediation
Fighting will not be tolerated and met with progressive discipline. Your child could face a suspension, loss of privileges or citation from the Waukesha Police Department if they engage in physical or verbal altercations with students or staff Administration, Teachers, Counselors and the School Resource Officer are always available for your student to have an opportunity to express a concern they have with a peer. You are vital to all of our student’s success.
Being “Coachable”
Repeated refusal to do what is asked is considered a major referral
Swearing is not appropriate
Our students are also expected to follow community expectations and represent their school and families in a positive light.
A major referral for any of these events are subject to administrative consequences
Bus Safety and Expectations:
The bus is an extension of school and all school rules apply
Stay seated throughout the bus ride
Keep voices at conversational volume (level 2), no yelling please.
Please encourage safe bus riding. Students may be removed from the bus, or lose bus privileges for a period of time if they receive a write up from the driver.
Electronics:
Cell phones should be powered off and left in students assigned street locker for the duration of the school day
Come with the iPad fully charged every day
Please support a distraction free environment by not texting your student during the day. You are able to contact the office to get a message to your student if needed.
We look forward to partnering with families to remain focused on finishing the school year strongly academically and behaviorally. Thank you for your attention and support!
Sincerely,
Robert M. Blessington
