Haw River Hype

Last week, students were engaged in learning throughout the building every day. It was great to see students collaborating with their peers to master standards! We look forward to seeing them continue to learn and grow during March!

Reminders:

• Families may come to eat lunch with your students. Please reach out to your child's teacher to let them know you are coming so they can plan for seating. Remember: NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK MAY BE BROUGHT IN. Upon arrival, please sign in at the front office and get a visitor's tag.

It's the Half-time mark for our Data Super Bowl. Now is a great time to pause and reflect on our work this year and continue to work towards our goals of "scoring a touchdown" and growing by 6 points every time we show what we know! Congratulations on the growth each house made so far this year. Lion Cubs Leaders are growing!

Lion Cub Leaders can help our community in many ways. Please bring your items and turn them into your homeroom teacher! We will continue collecting items through the end of March!

Each week during morning announcements, Mr. Bryan will announce the “Lion Cub Lingo” Words of the week. These words have been pulled from an academic vocabulary list that are most commonly used on formative and summative assessments. Students that use those words with adults in the building in the correct context can be rewarded with a House Point.

During the new year, are you looking for ways to give back to our community? Volunteering your time at our school would be a great way to be involved. We are currently looking for volunteers to help with our duty-free lunch. To volunteer, please complete the background check linked here and sign up by clicking the button below.

In first place is Excelsior with 10050 points. The points leader for last week was Noah V., in Kindergarten. The points leader for this school year is Itzel S., in 2nd grade.
