Preparing for Parent Access in Canvas Timetable
Canvas Calendar
What is the Canvas Calendar and how can it be used by a school administrator, an instructor, a student, and an observer (parent/guardian role)?
As school-based administrators, use the Calendar to add school events to an Account Calendar. This allows instructors, students, and observers to view course events as well as school events. School-based administrators should contact Andrea Harthausen for access.
As an instructor, use the Calendar to:
- View and create activities in your course as well as events and personal reminders; you can also filter the calendar view to only see specific calendars.
- Quickly add Assignments to a blank course. Fill in the details of those Assignments later.
- Adjust the dates of Assignments that have been imported from previous terms. Canvas makes it easy to drag and drop events across multiple months.
As a student, use the Calendar to view upcoming course events and assignments.
As future observers (parent/guardian), use the Calendar to access important school and course dates.
Refer to the following Canvas Calendar Guide for a step-by-step introduction to the affordances of Canvas Calendar.
Refer to the Innovation in Learning Resource Course for additional information related to Canvas Calendar.
