The deadline to signup for PSAT is September 6 (TODAY!!!!!)and is $18 to register. Signup with Mrs. McGhghy in the counseling office. The test is October 19th @8:15.
If you are planning to apply for the National Merit Scholarship, you HAVE to take this test in order to apply.
Freshmen-
Freshmen, don't forget to turn in your signed permission form by Wednesday, September 13th, to attend the USAO Tour.
Sophomores -
Sophomores will be attending Red River Technology's annual Sophomore Tours on Wednesday, Oct. 4th from 9-11 AM. All students will ride the school buses and must turn in a permission slip. These slips are being given out today (Wednesday, Oct. 6) through English II classes. Please return permission slips by Sept. 25 to your English teacher or directly to Mrs. Beam. You must return a permission slip in order to attend.
If you are a virtual student, please email me if you plan to go so that I can get your name on the list.

2023 GIRLS IN AVIATION DAY OF CENTRAL OKLAHOMA EVENT SET FOR SEPTEMBER 23rd AT AAR CORPORATION AT WILL ROGERS WORLD AIRPORT
OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma — AAR Corporation and the Women in Aviation International Greater Oklahoma City Metro Chapter will join Will Rogers World Airport, the 137th Special Operations Wing, the Air and Space Forces Association of Oklahoma, Boeing, Sooner Flight Academy and the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics to host the first Girls in Aviation Day in central Oklahoma. To be held at AAR Hangar 2, located at the company’s Maintenance Base facility in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the Women in Aviation International event will focus on introducing young girls to the exciting field of aviation, aerospace, and aeronautics, educating them on career opportunities and bringing awareness to the many diverse fields within the industry.
“More than 400 Central Oklahoma-area girls are expected to attend the inaugural event and have the opportunity to hear from aviation leaders,” said WAI Oklahoma City President, Young Chappell, a Boeing aerospace engineer. Chappell will champion the event supported by the WAI Oklahoma City members, 137th Special Operations Wing airmen, AAR Corporation, and Boeing volunteers. “We are so excited about this opportunity to give back to the community,” she said.
The girls will engage in hands-on learning about aviation including piloting, aircraft maintenance, the physics of flight, flight safety, aviation medicine, military aviation, and air traffic control.

If you want to take the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery), please sign up in Mrs. McGhghy's office. The test will be on October 5th at 8:00 a.m. in the West Building. It is FREE to take! You must sign up by September 29th!
