Dolphin Digest Family Edition
Week of November 27, 2023
Message from Principal Jackson / Mensaje de la directora Jackson
Welcome Back, Dolphins! Here we GROW with a week of fun field-learning experiences. This week our 5th graders will take a career trip to Troublemakers Studios. We also have Dolphins participating in the “40 Acres” learning experience this week. Learning is continuously opening doors!
Another learning growth tool that we use is the Measures of Academic Progress or MAP. Starting this week, our Kinder through 5th graders will take the MAP to measure their learning growth in reading and math. Students will be measured to determine their learning growth from the beginning of the year to the middle of the school year. Student academic performance will be shared with families.
Let’s get ready to start our #DolphinStrong week!

LOST AND FOUND
There are a whole lot of jackets in our lost and found bin. If your student is missing a jacket please remind them to look in the lost and found bin located on our stage in the cafeteria.
ROAD SAFETY
Please, be cautious and aware of the construction on Webberville Road. Due to the ongoing construction, the sidewalk is narrower creating less space for the students to walk and their steps closer to the cars. We ask that you drive safely through school zones and remind your Dolphins to be careful as they approach the crosswalk.
OBJETOS PERDIDOS

Lee
Did you know that science tells us that being thankful can make us happier, more resilient, and improve our sense of well-being? Expressing gratitude is also associated with a ton of mental and physical benefits. Studies have shown that feeling thankful can improve sleep, mood and immunity. Gratitude can decrease depression, anxiety, difficulties with chronic pain and risk of disease. Behavior changes biology. Positive gestures benefit you by releasing oxytocin, a hormone that helps connect people. Some people call it the love hormone. You'll also benefit the person on the other end of the gesture. After all, who doesn't like to be thanked for their efforts or just for being who they are? Sharing kindness can make you healthier and happier.
