Thank you, students, staff, and community for your participation and encouragement!

Student Safety
Students are continuing to cross Northstar at the Sacred Mountain intersection. As a reminder, there is no crosswalk at this location and it is extremely hazardous. Please have a conversation with your student about using the crosswalk located at the Conejo traffic light. That is the only crosswalk and safest route for students to take. Thank you for your support.
Senior Yearbook Ads
THE QUEST invites you to include personalized messages in your graduate’s senior yearbook. These special tributes can come from parents, grandparents, siblings, friends, pets, etc. They can be purchased for graduates, groups of friends, and/or entire teams or clubs. Please click here for size pricing, helpful info for creating your ad, and how to submit your order.
Anniversary year
Do you or someone you know have access to a large barrier boulder, similar to the spirit rocks we have in the front of the building and along the stadium parking lot? We are interested in having a "celebration rock" for students, families, or clubs to rent during the year to paint for birthdays or other special occasions. If you have a boulder to donate or might like to be our sponsor to acquire one, please contact meghan.bonner@lcps.org. Thank you!

Step Up Loudoun Youth
The Step Up Loudoun Youth Competition presents middle and high school students an opportunity to identify an issue in their communities and implement a solution as they contribute to the world around them. This year, students will create a team video due March 1, 2023, and then the top 20 teams will present live to judges on March 22, 2023. The Finals and Awards Ceremony will be on April 13, 2023, where the top 10 teams will be invited to present for cash prizes. Registration for the Step Up Loudoun Youth Competition opens on October 3, 2022. You will find information about SULYC and the link for the application at: www.loudounyouth.org under Programs: Step Up Loudoun Youth Competition.
CHARGE Up!
Clubs
Clubs are up and running! We even held our first "Advisory Club Day" during which students could attend club meetings during advisory in case they are unable to attend before or after school meetings. As a reminder, activity buses run on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, leaving campus at 5:30pm.
Service
Students can join a Knights Give Back Schoology course for their graduating class to review information about Champe's community service recognition program. Click the button below if your student missed this. They can access the recording document and view service opportunities shared with the program coordinator.
Athletics
We love our student athletes, and we love our students who support our athletes. One easy way to join is participating in spirit days and cheering loudly and appropriately with Champe Chaos (the student section) at games.
Another way is volunteering at concessions. Check out the openings still available for fall sports concessions in the sign-up here.
Sponsorship opportunities
Mr. Mick Mullins is seeking businesses or community groups that might like to sponsor home games or be included in stadium signs on campus. Please see the link relevant to your needs:

THANK YOU FOR A SUCCESSFUL MOCK SAT!
This past Saturday (September 24), the JCHS PTSA hosted a mock SAT for students in the surrounding community. The successful event, sponsored by Huntington Learning Center (HLC), brought 125+ students together to practice their test-taking skills with a proctored, mock SAT. Thank you to HLC South Riding for the partnership and to the community for participating.

OUR FACULTY IS AMAZING. TAKE TIME TO THANK THEM!
There are several national observances this month honoring educational faculty members. Join us in celebrating these folks on their special days of recognition and beyond:
World Custodian Day, October 2, recognizes the hard work that it takes to keep our schools in tip-top shape.
World Teachers’ Day, October 5, honors our teachers who work hard to inspire, guide, educate and mentor us every day. The theme for 2022 is: “teachers at the heart of education recovery”
National Coaches Day, October 6, was designated by President Nixon: "Coaches are highly qualified teachers—in highly specialized fields. But more than that, they are friends and counselors who help instill in their players important attitudes that will serve them all their lives."
PTSA GENERAL MEETING, OCTOBER 26
Please join us for our next General Membership Meeting in the JCHS Library at 6pm on October 26. We look forward to seeing you there!
