SWSD Schools to Operate on Two-Hour Delay Thursday, January 18 (BUSES on SNOW ROUTES)
The Sedro-Woolley School District will be operating on a two-hour late start on Thursday, January 18, 2024. Overnight temperatures are not expected to be above freezing until after 9 a.m. which will create hazardous driving conditions for many outlying areas in our district.
The adverse weather team will reassess conditions first thing Thursday morning and will communicate with families as soon as possible if a cancellation is required.
Two-Hour Late Start Times:

CMS — 9:40 a.m.
SWHS — 9:55 a.m.

No AM preschool (Good Beginnings, Samish Cooperative, Cub Club, Y @ Good Beginnings Preschool Campus) or AM Early Head Start.
No before-school programs, at all; including before-school music programs or driver’s education.
Breakfast will not be served, except for SWHS, SSHS and CMS.
MLL After-School Programs will be decided by 1 p.m.

No Field Trips: All field trips within the district and outside of the district are canceled.
Athletics and Other After-school Events: All decisions regarding organized sports and other after-school events will be announced to families by 1 p.m.
Meetings: All after-school meetings and events will be determined by 1 p.m.
Any meetings scheduled before school (or up until the start of late-start) are canceled, including IEP meetings.
Unannounced Changes: Since conditions change rapidly, please be prepared for unanticipated changes your child’s bus driver may make while en route. Families would be notified by the transportation department. These can include: route changes, time changes, bus stop changes, etc. The drivers are highly skilled and trained to handle their buses under all conditions, and their professional judgment under adverse driving conditions will often determine unannounced late changes.
If your child rides a school bus, please call the Transportation Department (360-855-3504) for your pick-up location, if your road is listed in the table below.
