The BIS Bulletin

The staff has been participating in some fun dress up days as we count down the days until Christmas. We'd like to invite the students to join in on the fun! There is no obligation, participate in just one day or dress up for them all! See the picture below for the daily details.

If you ordered any artwork through "Art to Remember", those are being sent home with students this week!

*If you are interested in volunteering to help at the penguin shop, please be sure to join the H&S GroupMe app for more information.

*All intermediate students will attend the Penguin Patch sales on Tuesday, December 13th. Students will have a chance to walk through the shop on Monday to preview items they would like to purchase. We will have the Penguin Patch open on Thursday and Friday for any students that may miss out on Tuesday.

*Be sure to read over the envelope that was sent home.

We have discussed a variety of important topics in Counseling this month! We talked about the importance of respecting ourselves and others, making good choices, having a positive mindset, being a good teammate / working together with others, and being thankful. Throughout this month, we also had the opportunity to review and practice the following mindfulness techniques in Counseling: Relaxed Breathing, 4-Count Breathing, Deep Breathing Turkey, Figure Eight Breathing, and Mindfulness Exercise for Gratitude. You can expand on what we have discussed in Counseling at home by having a conversation with your child about any of the topics we covered and asking them to demonstrate and/or share with you how to do some of the mindfulness techniques we did together in class!

The Intermediate Student of the Month is 5th grader, Owen Hull! December's character trait is compassion/kindness. Congratulations, Owen!
