Board Business
- Board Member Appreciation: Dr. Boryszewski presented the BOE with items of gratitude made by the students of SD81, and thanked the Board for their leadership and dedication.
- IASB Board Leader Recognition: Dr. Boryszeski presented Allison Downs, Tina Ewanio and Maryann Desecki (not present) with certificates from the Illinois Association of School Boards, recognizing them for their leadership.
- Triple I Conference: The Board will attend the conference November 18-20. There will be a photo opportunity during the awards ceremony highlighting Washington School.
- Leyden Area Board Dinner: The dinner will be on January 25th, 2023 at West Leyden.
Old Business Information
Construction Update:
- Thursday, November 17th will be the last construction meeting. The Kennedy courtyard is due to be completed next week.
- LMS principal, Dr. Stavrou reported that students are very grateful for and love their new turf field; the thank you cards delivered to the BOE contained many thanks for the field and their unique schools.
New Business Information
- Tentative 2022 Tax Levy: CSBO Pasquale Maranto presented information on the levy, stating that the levy produces between 65-70-% of the District's budget. The District will levy at 5%.
- District 81 2022 Annual Summative Designation: Vice President Del Zotti commented that it was great to see that all 3 schools were designated "Commendable" on the Illinois School Report card, provided by the Illinois State Board of Education. (Side note: A district must have no underperforming student groups at or below the "all students" group of the lowest-performing 5 percent of schools).
New Business Action
The Board of Education approved the following:
- District 81 received an opinion of "unmodified" and "no exceptions", the highest opinion possible.
- ESSER funding was audited and was unmodified. There were no findings or issues, and the right controls are in place around these funds.
- Transportation fund is starting to get more toward "normal" because cycling of use is back to typical.
- Bond money was spent on all upgrades as it was meant to be.
- Single Audit report of federal funds also reported no findings or issues with controls.
- AFR score of 3.7, which places the District in "Recognition," the highest designation. Ms. Torres commented that she anticipates that SD81 will remain at "Recognition" in the future, due to the District's fiscal stability and consistency.

4. Resolution 22-03 transferring money from the Set and Construction/Capital Improvements Fund to the Operations and Maintenance Fund of SD81
5. Resolution 23-04 of the Board of Education Directing the School Treasurer to Permanently Transfer Moneys in the Amount of $1,210,000.00 from the O&M Fund to the Capital Projects Fund.
6. Approval of Lincoln Casework Bid.
7. Rejection of Lincoln Prop Storage Bid.
