Mr. Stahley's Life Skills class had a perfect learning opportunity when another teacher's car had a flat tire. During the tire change Mr. Stahley taught students about safety precautions to take, correct jack placement, location of materials, how to increase leverage, leak detection, and plug repair. The students were even able to spot the culprit!

Students in Mrs. Vuyancih’s ELA class have been reading the novel The Outsiders. Recently the students analyzed the poem “Nothing Gold Can Stay” by Robert Frost. The students were asked to respond to the poem and to color a puzzle piece which then created a class mural of a scene in the book. The activity helped them to understand the important “Stay Gold” quote found in the novel.

This week in Driver’s Education, students participated in an activity that required students to navigate an obstacle course while wearing simulator goggles. The goggles allowed students to see what it would be like to navigate the course impaired. Students walked through cones to the opposite end of the course where they then had to balance and attempt to catch a racquet ball. Not only were students surprised at the change in vision, but they were also met with the unexpected difficulty of each task. Students encouraged one another as they continued to learn the real world situations in which they must make responsible decisions to become safe, and responsible drivers.

Esports is coming back with a vengeance this year at Williamsburg High School as the students were able to build gaming PCs. Esports is a competitive video game club where students compete online with other schools throughout Ohio. Students learned about BIOS updating, component installation, appropriate cabling options, and operating system installation.

Our partners at HealthSource of Ohio would like to share that the Outreach and Enrollment Team provide free over-the-phone assistance with Medicaid, Emergency Medicaid, Medicaid Renewals, and SNAP applications.
