Welcome to the BHS Express
A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
September 1, 2023
Andrea Conner, BHS Principal
Hello Bulldog Families.
We are excited to send our first communication for our Batavia High School families for the 2023-2024 school year! For families new to Batavia High School, you can expect a newsletter emailed to you every Friday. You will also be able to access this weekly newsletter via the district’s and the school’s website as well as through district and high school social media accounts.
Many families have shared with me that they open it, take a screenshot of the important dates section, and go back and read it more in-depth later. If you happen to delete it, no worries! All editions are archived in a PDF format on the high school’s website. We also send Friday emails to your student and attach this newsletter as a PDF. Please encourage your students to check their school email. We use it A LOT at the high school, so this is an important skill to help our ninth graders learn as they transition into a more independent setting at Batavia High School.
Although our new building is beautiful and we can’t wait for you to see it, we want you to know that all school buildings feel empty without our students. We simply can’t wait until September 7th! We continue to be impressed with the collaboration spaces that were purposely built into this building. We know that we are preparing today’s students for an ever-changing workforce; however, there are some skills that all employers are telling us that professionals need: the ability to work with others to develop innovative solutions to problems. Our new BHS spaces are designed just for this! Wait until you see them!
If you are having difficulty reaching our building via phone, please use a temporary number that has been set up: 513-732-4000. This number is in place as a “holder” until we can get our standard number, 513-732-2341, to roll over to our new location. We definitely want to be helpful as we transition into this new school year, so please use the 513-732-4000 until we notify you of the switch back to the standard BHS number that everyone knows.
We hope you all get a chance to stop by and say hello on Tuesday, September 5th. In the meantime, please enjoy our long weekend!
In service to our Bulldogs.

Hello, BHS Families.
I have a few logistical items I’d like to share as we approach the start of the school year and open a brand new space. A brand new space also brings new safety protocols and logistics. See below for a few items we have received questions about so far:
Student Parking:
Parking pass purchase is available on EZPay under parking. Student parking passes are $35 and are good for the entire school year. I will be handing passes out once we get started. The first couple weeks students may park in the football lot (same parking area as last year). Once passes are distributed students will be required to have a pass in order to have a parking space.
Student Driver Procedures:
Students should enter campus from the Batavia Road entrance each day. Students will then take a left and pass the football field. At the intersection in front of high school students will turn right and head to the back parking lot behind the football stadium.
Parent Drop Off Procedures:
Parents dropping off students will be required to enter campus from Old 32. Parents will pull up along Bulldog Way each morning to drop off students. Parents will exit campus from Batavia Rd.
A map will be sent via separate email soon.
Class Meetings will take place on Friday, September 8th. The following items will be discussed:
Core Values: Respect, Responsible, Safe
Handbook
Building Procedures before school, during school, after school
Cell Phone Rules and Expectations. Phones will be allowed as long as students use them in a respectful and responsible way. For safety purposes, we believe it is important for students to have phone access in case of emergencies.
