OFF AND RUNNING!
Thanks for a great start to the school year. From the "Back to School" night to the amazing "Marching with the Pride of Wildcatland" on Friday, it was amazing to see the excitement of students, parents, and community members. We definitely had a lot of people exhibiting the "All In, All Bulldog" mentality. This week, the real work begins as expectations have been laid out in classes and student learning will be taking center stage. It's always worth mentioning during the start of the year how important a good night's rest is for a busy student. Brains continue to develop all the way until the age of 25 and getting proper rest for those brains and bodies is critical for finding success inside and outside of the classroom. We want everyone to be at their best!

Club Connection:
FBLA is hosting their Social Night at Landoll Lanes for current and new members on Thursday, August 25, 6:30-9:00pm! You can pay your $15 dues at the door. Come join the fun!
Friday, it's yearbook handout time. Students will be called to Mrs. Anderson's room during AEP to pick them up. Tell her "thanks" while you are there. It's a labor of love for our yearbook staff to get to this point each year! Fifty years from now yearbooks will be brought out to help our old brains remember what happened in the year 2021-2022.
Weekly Words of Wisdom from Mr. Woodcock
Thanks to everyone for a great start to the year. It's worth revisiting some protocols for before school and during lunch. I love the fact that you all want to get to school early but want to remind everyone that students are not allowed in the hallways until 8:00am. Use that time to sleep in an extra 15 minutes or catch up on what your friends did over the weekend. I also want to remind everyone that during lunch you are to remain in the cafeteria until you hear the bell or are released by Mr. Fredrickson or me. The lunch hour who can do the best job of accomplishing this goal will receive a treat by the end of the week. Thanks for listening!

Spotlights
This week's featured new staff member is Emily Gartner. She is rolling out our new JAG-K program which stands for Jobs for America's Graduates. She is a 2022 graduate of Missouri State where she played basketball. Emily is here to help students research jobs and then get them exposure and experience doing the jobs they are interested in as a career. If you'd like to learn more about JAG-K and what it has to offer, make sure you talk to Ms. Gartner today.
JH Student of the Week: Donald Rightmire
This 8th grader was caught helping a disabled, elderly man up the stairs Friday night at the KSU performance. 8th grader Donald Rightmire saw that this gentleman needed help, talked to him, and gave him is hand to assist him up the stairs. This act of kindness touched my heart and is a great example of the kind of compassion we want our students to have.
HS Student of the Week: Lillie Wheeler
Whether it is showing up before school began for a STUCO meeting or coming in and asking me about a fundraiser, she is ALL IN, ALL BULLDOG! I cannot wait to see her leadership shine this school year.
