Help Our Brothers Out
The annual HOBO outing hosted by the Merton Area Boy Scout Troop is designed to gather donations of personal items, toiletries, and other essentials for local shelters and aide organizations. In addition to collecting supplies, the scouts will be sleeping overnight in cardboard boxes and cooking over make-shift stoves to simulate the difficulties of being homeless.
They are given cardboard appliance boxes and are asked to make a shelter using the boxes, duct tape and tarps. They will be required to cook one meal on the make-shift stoves and must use these stoves whenever they want something warm to drink.
There will be large bins available to collect supplies for the homeless and inspect the scout’s shelters and learn about their experience.
When: Saturday, Nov. 4 starting at 11:00 a.m. – Sunday, Nov. 5 at 8 a.m.
Where: Merton Community Center (W282N6966 Main Street, Merton)
Troop Contact: Dave Mason, Scout Master at 262-560-0298 (djmasonjr@yahoo.com))

Forensics team
Mrs. Iwanski is looking for an assistant! The team is open to all students in grades 6-8, and the season runs from the beginning of December to the end of March.
What does it mean to be an assistant coach for forensics??
- Weekly practice (one night a week for 1 hour before or after school - depending on what we as coaches prefer)
- 4 Saturday meets - these take place at local schools in Southeast Wisconsin. The meets normally start early (7:30) and end by 4:00. The last two seasons we have elected to do a after school meet instead of a Saturday meet for one of the 4.
- 1 State Tournament Meet - we only take the students who qualify based on their other meet performance.
If you are interested in coaching with Mrs. Iwanski, she would love to hear from you! If you can listen to kids, give feedback, and would like to get involved in an extra curricular that doesn't involve athletic ability - FORENSICS IS FOR YOU!
