Marlette Elementary News
December 2019
From the Principal's Desk
Wow! Time sure flies when you're having fun. Can you believe we've already made it to December? Rodney Raider, the MES elf, has returned for some fun and scouting for Santa. Be sure to ask your child where Rodney was at every day. We are planning some fun dress up days for our last 12 days before Christmas break. As of today, Wednesday, December 4, there are only 21 sleeps until Christmas! Please pay extra close attention to teacher's newsletters for important upcoming dates.
Our Christmas vacation begins at 1:00 on Friday, December 20. We return in 2020 on Monday, January 6.
We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

From the School Social Worker
As the winter season rolls around again this year, I continue to be amazed by the generosity of our community to reach out and provide our children with essential cold weather items such as coats, hats, mittens, boots, etc. Our goal is to ensure every child has access to those items. This year, with the support of Marlette Regional Hospital as well as one individual donor, we were able to provide five full meals to local families for Thanksgiving. Other families have reached out to offer donations or the willingness to adopt families for the holiday season as well. We also continue to coordinate with Toys For Tots and are collecting new and unwrapped items here at the school. All these acts of kindness and selflessness do not go unnoticed and we are truly blessed to have such strong community support. If you have some extra winter gear in your closet, donations will always be welcomed. If you are interested in donating /adopting a family or if your family could use some additional support this holiday season, please contact me at 989.635.7425 ext. 44924. If you are unable to donate, but would like to donate your time, please consider participating in the new Meals with Mentors program at the Elementary school. Please contact the school or view the flyer (below) for more information.

Furthermore, forms may be resubmitted at any time during the school year if there is a change in financial status with the household. For more information, please contact the Superintendent’s Office at 989-635-7429.
