Ms. Snapp's class did a marvelous job with their living wax museum. And they celebrated their hard work with a reception. Great job, 5th graders!

Academically and Intellectually Gifted (AIG) programming at Ballentine
Last week, we said farewell to Mrs. Clark as she completed her time as our AIG teacher. We are incredibly grateful for her many years of dedication to the students of Ballentine and WCPSS. Mrs. Schmidt is currently transitioning from her role as Science Enrichment Teacher to AIG Teacher, so there will be a brief transition period before she officially begins working with AIG students.
As Mrs. Schmidt transitions into this role, service delivery may look different for students. In preparation for EOGs she will continue to pull 3rd-5th grade students for reading and math. In addition, she will be working with all K-5 classroom teachers to ensure that all students still have access to level 4 opportunities. This time will allow her to complete all 2nd grade identifications, so that 3rd grade students can begin the 2025/26 school year with AIG services in place.
We are excited to have Mrs. Schmidt in this role at Ballentine.
Letterland Days at Pullen Park set for May 5 and 8
WCPSS annual Letterland Days at Pullen Park is an exciting, interactive event where young learners experience the world of Letterland—an engaging phonics program that turns letters into characters with stories, songs, and hands-on activities.
Join us on May 5 and May 8 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Pullen Park to meet Letterland characters, and to participate in hands-on arts and crafts and literacy activities! Admission into the park is free and ride tickets are $2. Register to attend here.
