CFF NEWSLETTER
September 29, 2020
Dear Community Families,
Hope everyone had a meaningful Yom Kippur - Day of Atonement celebration yesterday!
Did you pick up dinner or dined in at Burger Lounge on Thursday and Friday? Hope everyone enjoyed a night without cooking dinner and we appreciate our community coming together to support our school! THANK YOU so much to the Dine & Donate Team for setting up the event with Burger Lounge and for hosting a Zoom Dinner Date to connect with each other.
THANK YOU to all the kinder families who voted and CONGRATULATIONS to the election of our Kinder Grade Level Director - Elyse Ryan! Elyse will serve and represent all kinder families on the CFF Board and communicate fundraising and volunteering information with all Kinder families.
Are your kid(s) excited about their time with Coach Andy for PE, Art with Kathleen, Dance with Christopher, Technology with Erik and CATCH with Linda? That's 50% of our operating budget. Please help us raise the funds we need to secure all of our programming for next year.
Until next time ... stay safe and healthy!
Sincerely,
Stefania Willens
CFF President

PLEDGE DRIVE UPDATE
Help Us Grow Our Annual Fund!
THANK YOU to the 119 families who have participated in Pledge Drive (as of Sept. 28) to help raise helped to raise $78,000 so far!
Your generous support is what allows our Community to thrive!
PLEDGE BY FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2nd TO GROW OUR ANNUAL FUND AND EARN INCENTIVES!
Your Child Is Counting On You!
Please make a voluntary donation by Friday October 2 to ensure your child and all the children of CMCS can continue to enjoy robust programming -- while we remain virtual and once we (eventually) return to campus!
At CMCS, while virtual, your child benefits from PE, technology, art, CATCH, multi-cultural assemblies, appreciation week, grandparent's day, Korean translation services/office support, administrative and supervision support staff, books & materials, teacher materials, and much more! Once we return, CFF also funds field trips, garden, campus beautification, community events like Sweetheart's Dance, and even more! ALL this is funded by the CFF Pledge Drive -- and to make sure we can do the same next year, we need your help to raise about $325,000!(Learn More).
Class Participation Update!
Our goal is 100% participation. More important than the amount you give, however, is the fact that you give. Please give a gift that is meaningful to your family's circumstances. Help us reach this goal by giving generously if you are able.
SAVE THE DATE!

October is National Bullying Prevention Month
As our students spend more time than ever using technology this year, we thought we'd share some Cyberbullying resources for parents!
"Often, the perception is that cyberbullying only happens on social media platforms, which require individuals to be at least 13 before signing up and using these services...However, children can be subjected to or participate in inappropriate online behavior as soon as they have access to technology. If they have access to text messaging, group chats, an email address, or a gaming site, there is the potential for cyberbullying."
It is important to have open conversations with your child and to give them the tolls they need to make the right choices online. Learn more here!
