Directors' Letters
To the TECites and Team of TEC 179,
This was one of those TECs where the final roster of team and TECites was not final until mid-
afternoon on Die Day. In the 36 hours leading up to arrival, we lost 4 team members due to health issues and other conflicts. Two registered TECites also went missing and did not quite make it to TEC 179... but as we always say: everything happens in God's time.
We also had two of the youngest TECites in recent memory make this TEC. Leo Evans (~6-7 months old) and Cecilia Gootee (~6-7 weeks old)! It made for some interesting logistics and the creation of a Conference Room nursery behind the banners, but all-in-all it went extremely well accommodating the kids and their moms.
What a true blessing it was to be the Director on this TEC. Almost right from the get-go, the TECites engaged and quickly got into the spirit of the TEC. With only about 30 people between both teams (and no Oat Team), people could've gotten frazzled, but that never happened. We were so blessed to have Fr. Eric Sternberg with us for nearly all of the time we were there and also to have Fr. Greg Ihm there for all of Die Day. Things stayed on schedule and people could've actually gotten some decent sleep going into Rise Day! The potential for bad weather kept the Reunion small but those who came were welcomed to a very spiritually moving gathering.
A very special thank you to Fr. Eric Sternberg and St. Cecilia Parish for hosting us; we are extremely grateful for your hospitality.
May you all see the Lord walking with you until we meet again, hopefully at TEC 180!
Steve Davies
Director, TEC 179

Dear Friends from TEC #179,
By now, everyone has likely gotten the New Year started and we are off and running with a fresh list of resolutions, goals and projects for the year ahead. Whether ours are summarized in formalized lists or thoughtful recommitments of core values we’ve always held, they obviously can help us to refocus and rejuvenate as we begin the next year.
As we go through this rejuvenation process, I hope we all can build upon the experience we had in Wisconsin Dells last month as we Together Encountered Christ through the Paschal Mystery of Dying, Rising and Going Forth together. May our “Metanoia” experience result in a real “change of heart” for us all as we go forth like Joseph and Rise Together taking with us the Child and His Mother!

Dear Tecites & Team of TEC 179,
There are a couple of TEC quotes that are even harder to get out of your head than our song 'This Little Light of Mine'. Those quotes are 'Participate, don't Anticipate' and 'Every TEC is Different'. Well for me TEC 179 was 'one of the most different TEC that I have ever experienced'. I was a Resource for the first time in 30 years. I'd like to give a BIG SHOUT OUT to the other 3 members of the Quattor Parento table....Tina, Bob, and Pam!!!! Our table was very fluid. There was a couple of times that Steve was saying "Where is Doc?", Pam & Tina were behind our banners being moms, and Bob was probably wondering 'did I miss the Rapture'? He was definitely our anchor. But Rise & Go Day slid me into a second role for which I have become very accustomed...CR Assistant Spiritual Director. Having both vantage points gave me a very unique perspective. To quote the words on a plaque we have here at home.....THANKFUL, GRATEFUL, BLESSED. I am truly all three of those because of ALL of you on TEC 179!!! I hope that our paths continue to cross!!! TEC 180 in Lancaster is only 2 months away, March 13-15. Come and share what you have been given.
Love, Joy, Peace be with all of you, Doc

Dear Tecites of TEC # 179,
It has been more than 2 weeks since we first met. I can still picture the conference room with Kairos TEC Banner 14 and Kairos TEC banner #177 side by side. I remember where all the tables were along with where everyone sat. I remember our conversations as we ate our delicious meals. (Thanks Michelle and Marnie!) I have my decorated bag in a special place where I see it every day. (Thanks Maddie! ) I read again my signed placemat (Thanks Radiant Wheaties). I also still giggle when I think of the inspired impersonations of Steve, Doc and Father Eric.
While I don’t remember every word or every experience, I do still hold each of you in my heart. I pray that you continue to see the many signs of God’s presence and feel God’s love. I hope to see you in the future!
Love,
Margaret Martin

Dear Friends from TEC #179,
My heart is full and my spirit is happy. Thank you to our wonderful “Radiant Wheat”. You found such joy in serving the TECites. You completed tasks cheerfully and opened yourselves prayerfully. In return, together we grew in our faith and love of Christ. What I’ll remember most about this TEC is the sense of family. It warmed my heart to see the deep love shared between mothers and children, husbands and wives, cousins, and sisters. What a blessing you all were to each other and to each of us.
Welcome to the 10 new friends who joined our TEC community. I’m so pleased that you answered the invitation to encounter Him in a new way and hope that you are able to take that love home and have the faith courage to “Go, take the child and His mother”.
Your Sister in Christ,
Terri Gile
