MPES Sustains Minimal Damage from Irma
I hope all is well with you and your family. MPES fared well with minimal damage given the amount of large trees surrounding our campus.
The area pictured below is on our playground. I have notified the maintenance shop and they will repair ASAP. Until then, we will block this area off from students. Please make sure you are closely supervising them during recess and notify the front office if you notice any additional concerns while you are outside.

Parent Math/Literacy Night Postponed
This will give you more time to prepare for what needs to be a special night where parents should walk away with great strategies to support their child's learning at home.
As you reflect and prepare for your conversation with parents, I would ask, "What is your 'I can' statement for parents?"
Example "I can" statement:
After this parent session, I can help my child become a better reader, writer, and mathematician because of the strategies provided for me to work with my child at home.
Thank you in advance for the preparation that I realize will go into making this a wonderful night for our parents.
NEHS Induction Postponed
MPES School Council
Our first meeting, originally scheduled today, will be held on Friday, September 18 @ 8 AM. This should only impact faculty who are on our school council.
Remembering 9-11, Constitution Day (Wear Red, White, and Blue on Friday)
As you prepare to share information about Constitution Day and, in remembrance of the attacks on 9/11/2001, I thought you might want to also share this patriotic singing of our National Anthem. If you haven't seen this, I will not spoil it for you...enjoy.
