At the Board of Education meeting held on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, the Board reviewed the District's Capital Project Phase III presentation and approved the date for the Capital Project Phase III Vote to be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022. Polls will be open from 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. on the Board of Education room at the High School.

HF-L's Phase III Capital Project Committee, comprised of staff, community members, Board of Education members, and other stakeholders met over multiple months to plan and consider the proposed work for the next upgrades and improvements to HF-L's school buildings. The committee gave consideration to the District's mission and vision, project cost, and long-term strategic initiatives. The final scope of work for a Phase III Capital Project was approved by the Board of Education at their October 25, 2022 meeting and will now be taken to a vote by the community.

HF-L Community Programs is pleased to announce that registration for the 2022-2023 season of Ski & Snowboard Club is now open for all HF-L students in grades 4-12!

The Club will once again spend the season at Bristol Mountain.

This year’s Ski Club will be held on Tuesday nights, starting on Tuesday, January 10. Subsequent dates will be 1/17, 1/24, 1/31, 2/28 and 3/7.

The Music Boosters is offering plants for sale (Poinsettias, Cyclamen, Christmas Cactus) as well as holiday centerpieces great for decorating or giving as gifts. Registration is now open for HF-L BIL! BIL is a recreational basketball league with a focus on learning the basics while having fun and getting exercise with a bunch of friends. Leagues are available for 3rd/4th grade, 5th/6th grade, 7th/8th, and 9-12th grade. All games are played locally at one of the four HFL school gyms. Games or practices are approximately once a week on weeknights, and are typically scheduled throughout January, February, and March.

New Class Offering: At Peaceful Kids, we study happiness for a living, and we are passionate about sharing our knowledge with others. Research in the new field of positive psychology shows there are many ways to increase well-being. In this course, we cover some of the basic concepts of positive psychology including utilizing character strengths to cultivate well-being. Through independent reflections and group activities, participants will learn what their own top strengths are then experience the value of leveraging those personal strengths for even greater well-being. Participants will leave with tools to utilize personally and to help others.

HF-L Nordic Ski Swap and Sale HFL Middle School Quaker Meeting House Rd, HF Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 9 am—1 pm (9 am-noon for used) New and Used XC Ski Equipment & Clothing available for Children and Adults! Drop off Used XC Ski Equipment & Clothing to Sell at the Sale, Friday, November 18th from 6-8 pm at the Middle School Cafeteria Nordic Ski Hot Waxing and Binding Mounting will also be available on Saturday Supports Local XC Ski Programs and Trail Grooming

The Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District is happy to continue its partnership with Paper, a digital tutoring service. This service is available to all HF-L students in grades 4-12 and will provide free, unlimited access to virtual tutoring sessions. These sessions are 1:1 and are available 24 hours a day. Students can access this using their ClassLink portal.

Using Paper, students get homework help, writing feedback, and study support on demand. Teachers gain insights into learning gaps. Administrators have visibility into where support is needed.

Bivona Child Advocacy Center is partnering with brightly decorated homes this holiday season to raise funds awareness for the center and its services. Our Holiday Lights tour provides a fun, family-focused tour of the area's most decadently decorated homes from December 10-25th. You can purchase a Sleigh Box and embark on a holiday adventure with family or friends from the comfort of your own car as your schedule permits, weather allows, and as often as you like! The Sleigh Box pickup event with Santa will take place at Bivona on Saturday, December 10. Sleigh Boxes are $50/each and ideal for a family of four. Limited quantities available.
