A letter from Fr. Richard Moseley
Dearest members of St. Peter and St. Paul Anglican Church,
It is with great sadness that I pass on to you the news that was delivered by our Rector, Fr. Scott Wooten last weekend at each of the services. He has decided to resign from his position here at STP2 effective this weekend and will be seeking secular employment. Please pray for guidance and peace for the Wooten Family.
Where are we to go from here?
In consultation with the Bishop, the vestry has asked for me to serve as Priest in Charge for the Interim, and I have agreed to serve in this capacity until a Rector is chosen. I will not be considered as a candidate for the Rector of this parish. I did not accept this position because I had to or for any other reason than that I am called to serve this parish. But, I want you to know that we will only succeed as a parish if we walk forward together in Christ. This means that both you and I will have to commit more time to prayer, self-denial, and service.
If you have any questions about Fr. Scott’s resignation, my serving as Priest in Charge, or our future, please plan to come to an ALL PARISH MEETING with Bishop Iker on Monday, November 27th at 7:00 pm here at the church. If you could bring some light sandwiches or hors d’oeuvres, please let Tracie know.
We have lots of great things in our future – God has blessed us in many ways, and He expects, commands, and enables us to spread His Kingdom and to tend His Sheep. Together, by His grace, our church can and will be a light to the world.
First, we all need to attend mass each week. It is only by worshiping and praying together that we will know and be empowered to do God’s will for this parish. We can grow again, but only if we work together in Christ.
Second, we will need a budget for 2018, which the vestry has begun, but we all need to pledge this year. Even if it’s not a great amount from some of us, God will do great things with our combined efforts.
There is so much work to be done.
In Christ’s service,
