Dear Parent(s),

On Dec. 6th, we will be making some adjustments to classroom assignments for our teachers. Teachers will given time to move out of teacher cohort rooms this week and back into their assigned classrooms. This move will give more opportunity for students to move between their cohort classes, allowing for short breaks for students throughout the day. On Dec. 6th students will go to their homeroom for first period to discuss changes and answer any questions our students have.

Thank you to the Edson Kinette Club for the donation towards our breakfast program.

Congratulations to the C1 Girls volleyball team, the GYAC Tier 2 Champions and B Boys GYAC Bronze medal winners.

Basketball try-outs will begin this week, our schedule is attached below. Please connect Miss Carpenter our Athletic Director if you have any questions.

Pine Grove had the amazing opportunity to participate in the Fall/Winter Virtual Indigenous School Games put on by the The Indigenous Sport Council of Alberta. Students participated in traditional and modern games for the opportunity to win medals and a banner for our school. Students had a blast competing in games such as Big Hoop, Basketball Challenge, Foxtails and Targets, The Strong Person Carry, and Kneel Jump. Thank you all for making the first Indigenous Games Week a success!!

Recently, students from 8A & 8C received an opportunity to showcase what they had learned during the Mix & Flow of Matter Unit by participating in collaborative learning activity. Groups were assigned 4-6 key questions from the unit and took turns delivering the content to their classmates, who were required to take notes on what was being taught.

Congratulations to a few of our RockStars who won FREE Panago Pizza for being great representatives of Pine Grove.

Pine Grove is offering an optional Hockey Hooky field trip to Rogers Place in Edmonton on February 8, 2022. Oil Kings vs. Regina Pats. Permission forms will be available in the office starting November 16th and tickets can be purchased in the office for $40.00 each (100 tickets ONLY). Please note that if you are interested in attending, the venue (Rogers Place) has an implemented proof of vaccination rule as of Sept 28, 2021. When purchasing tickets, your proof of vaccination will need to be shown in order to secure your spot on the trip. If you are planning to attend and bring a negative test result on the day of the event, that can be communicated as well. Please note that any testing or vaccinations for this event will be at your own expense and your own choice, as this is an optional field trip.

How to Form Meaningful Friendships

Pine Grove is collecting for the Kinette Hamper. Please bring in a new toy or non-perishable food item to donate. When you bring in a donation, you will be able to enter your name for a Christmas Holiday Planter to enjoy with your family during the holidays. The deadline for donations is December 15th. Please check at the office for more information.
