State Solo & Ensemble Contest
These students participated in the State Solo & Ensemble Contest on Saturday, Feb. 26th and they had a successful day!

Owen, Bella, and Faye-Lynn all participated in two different events, a solo and a small ensemble. Katelynne Scott and Bella Bradburn earned a gold rating and were only one half of a point away from a "Gold with Distinction", which is the highest honor you can receive at State Solo & Ensemble Contest. Congratulations to all!!

Latin students are making a grand return to our normal 2-day Latin Convention competition at IU next weekend, March 11th & 12th, for the first time since 2019 - woohoo! They will have the opportunity to compete in a variety of cultural and academic competitions. Most notably, team Bradburn/Scott returns to the Certamen stage (quiz bowl for Latin) to defend their 1st place title from last year!

Congratulations HS Academic Super Bowl Team!!
Congratulations to the SHS Academic Super Bowl team on their 2nd place finish in the HHC Competition last night! The Fine Arts team earned 2nd place in their round, and the Math, English, and Science teams each came in 3rd.
Thanks to their performance last night, the Quiz Bowl Team's 1st place honors at the HHC tournament in December, and the Spell Bowl team placing 2nd at the HHC competition in October, SHS is the HHC all-around academic team champion for the 21-22 school year! Congratulations and thank you to all of this year's participants!

Harrison is a hardworking, caring, responsible student who always strives to be the best that he can be. Harrison exemplifies the Golden Bear Way everyday by having a great attitude, saying hello to all of his friends and teachers, and working hard to keep his grades up. Harrison is a member of the SHS Bowling team where he has proven he can balance a full workload of class assignments and be part of the busy competition schedule. He is a valuable part of the team and shows excellent sportsmanship to all bowlers. Harrison is an all around positive influence on the SHS community.

GBTV is still collecting pictures for the annual senior slideshow. This video will showcase all
seniors, events, and senior superlatives and will be available to purchase at graduation. Here’s
what we need from every senior: a senior picture, a baby picture, and a picture of your choice
all school appropriate of course! Your digital pictures need to be sent to

Women of the Workforce
On Friday April 1st Blue River Career Programs will be hosting its annual Women of the Workforce event from 9:30am - 2:00pm at the Career Center. This event is created to give female students the opportunity to meet with women working in fields where jobs are not traditionally held by women. If you would be interested in attending this event, you will need to return the attached permission slip to the Counseling office by Tuesday March 15th. Printed copies of the permission slip are also available in the counseling office. Please reach out to Mrs.Weaver with any questions!

Teacher guided tutoring is available after school in the library Tuesdays 3:30pm-4:30pm and
Wednesday 3pm-4pm. Transportation is available. If you're interested, stop by the Counseling
