BAND STORE NOW OPEN
The 2020-2021 Band store is now open for shopping. For those who are new to band, the store consists of apparel items and spirit wear (required and optional) that students will need for band competitions, practices, and football games. This year we have included a mandatory "Section Fee" that all students will pay now to help alleviate some of the section fee cost on E-day (July 25th). You will find items that are required for ALL students, BAND ONLY students, GUARD ONLY students, and OPTIONAL/SPIRIT WEAR items. All freshmen or students new to band need to purchase all required items. Upperclassmen and returning students only need to purchase required items that need to be replaced.
The Band store will be open from Sunday, June 7th - Wednesday, June 24th. Please email Heather Fisher at LTBPpreselect@gmail.com if you have any questions.
SUMMER BAND UPDATE
Summer Band Update: At this time we are evaluating our current summer band schedule and will determine adjustments as information and guidelines become clearer. In previous years, Summer Band met with all members for two four-hour blocks with a break for lunch or dinner. For example, 8-12 full band outside, 12-12:30 lunch, and 12:30-4:30 brass, woodwind, sectional groupings etc. to work on music during the heat of the day. Our current plan is to have band events on our previously scheduled dates with possible time changes or rotating blocks, bringing in different parts of the band throughout the day, anticipating that the number of students present at one time may need to be limited. Here are a few dates sent out previously that are coming up on our calendar.
2020-2021 PARTICIPATION FORMS
A few notes:
- if you participated in band/sport in 2019-2020 school year with a current physical at the HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL as a 9th, 10th or 11th grader, you do NOT need a new physical this year per UIL. Incoming Freshman (even if they had a physical/played a sport in LTISD last year) and new students WILL need a new physical.
- if you need a physical, there will be several opportunities for reduced cost physicals in the area. More information to come! There will likely not be a district-sponsored physical offered this year.
- Rank One forms require electronic signatures from both parent and student and take some time to fill out. There are three separate forms on Rank One that need to be completed. Plan accordingly.

PRE-SEASON VIDEOS
Pre-Season Videos
Each year around this time, we begin involving the incoming freshmen in our preparation for the fall. The directors are hosting pre-season recording submissions for the brass and woodwind players. This is taking place via the “BAND” app, an app the directors use to communicate with students. Students are asked to upload weekly videos for directors and other students to provide feedback. This is a great way for students to introduce themselves and connect to the current students of the band program.
If your student is not a member of their group, follow the appropriate link below to access the 2020 Brass or 2020 Woodwind Group. They will be prompted to download the app if on a mobile device (it can be accessed on a computer, but it is best if students can use their own phone with the app if possible).

THE BEST WAY for students to get connected to current members and feel more prepared for the fall is through participation in these exercises. Future 9th grade participation is imperative and will set the students up to feel more connected to other members and be better prepared for the Cavalier Band. They do not need to feel any pressure to be perfect with these assignments. It’s a very welcoming environment all about students working together and giving tips on the next steps to prepare them for the fall season.
LOCKER CLEANOUT AND MARCHING INSTRUMENT CHECKOUT
A date will be scheduled soon to allow graduating and returning students to safely clean out their lockers and check out instruments for summer practice and for the upcoming year.
