Our Greatest Commandments
In our Gospel reading for this weekend, Matthew 22:34-40 presents a conversation between Jesus and Pharisees. Jesus was asked by a Pharisee "Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?" He said to him, "You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself." We demonstrate wholehearted love for God when we adore Him exclusively, cherishing Him and Him alone. We exhibit profound love for God in our very essence when our ultimate contentment resides in Him above all else. Our intense love for God is evident through our cognitive devotion, as we conscientiously choose to follow His every command. This will help our second commandment to occur even more naturally. Let's contemplate where (heart, soul, mind) and how we can personally grow in our love for Christ this week!
Please remember the following:
- Morning drop off occurs in the ENTIRE space between the crosswalks, so please CAREFULLY pull all the way up when there is room as you come through the drop off line in the morning.
- Attention to your child's dress code regarding HAIR (boys' must be above the eyebrows), EARRINGS (studs or small hoops which hug the ear lobe), and NAILS (one solid color of nail polish without designs; if nails are professionally done and do not follow the above expectations, students will have one week to remove them).
- If your child is not feeing well and displays symptoms of illness (fever, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, sore throat, etc) PLEASE keep them home to monitor.
- Devices (phones or smart watches) must be OFF and away while on campus and turned into the homeroom teacher in the morning. Students must ask for permission to take out a device for any use in order to avoid distractions and inappropriate use of technology while at school.
