November news from the School Counselor
Kindergarten
Our youngest students have been introduced to the Zones of Regulation, a tool we use to identify how we are feeling. We will continue to discuss our feelings and learn tools to regulate our busy bodies!
First Grade
The first graders have discussed ways to be successful in school, including being a whole body listener, and paying attention. They also reviewed the Zones and discussed what makes them “cranky” while reading Crankenstein!
Second Grade
In 2nd grade, we read a beautiful story about a boy with BIG, BIG feelings. They learned that everyone has big emotions and it is okay to show them! The students enjoyed painting pictures similar to the illustrations in the book.
PBIS Corner
This past week our Midview North Students had the opportunity to cash in their PBIS tickets for a treat! Students were able to choose popcorn or cotton candy. Our next treat day will be held on December 1. In addition to our bimonthly treat days, Lunch with the Principal will be added as a monthly reward. Our students earn tickets by being Ready, Responsible and Respectful throughout their days.
