Dear Page Hilltop Families:

Our annual Page Hilltop Turkey Trot was the best ever! The weather was warmer than usual and we were able to use the fantastic new ASRHS track facility.

The morning began with Mr. O'Brien coordinating a "challenge race" involving all of the K-5 mile run qualifiers AND members of the high school cross-country team. What a great way to start the day! Thanks to the high school administrators & cross-country coaches for allowing the high school runners to join us. It is always great to have them involved with our students!

All of our fourth-grade students then put on a "Mini-Macy's Balloon Parade", which was a culminating project from their science lessons. The balloons were as creative as anything you'd see in the actual Macy's parade.

The rest of the morning was spent with students, staff, and parents walking together around the track. We were thrilled to see so many parents and family members in attendance!

This was another awesome Page Hilltop school - family event!

At this time we welcome our families to share with us some of the "winter traditions" that are celebrated in various countries. We are not specifically speaking about just holiday traditions. We want to know what the winter solstice/season is like in different countries. What winter traditions/activities are celebrated?

We will be spotlighting some of these traditions in our upcoming winter chorus concert as well as future editions of the newsletter.

The month of December will be filled with many spirit days for our students and staff to participate in. We will list them all below so that each family has time to review the list, decide which ones they would like to participate in & prepare for each. Students are welcome to join in some or all of these fun days.

Our PTO will be hosting a Family Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, December 10th from 8:00 - 11:00 am in the PH cafeteria. All Page Hilltop families are cordially invited to attend.

ALL breakfast reservations must be submitted on the link below by November 30th. This is to insure the proper arrival of all food items needed for the breakfast.

During the breakfast times there will also be an opportunity to have a FAMILY PHOTO taken, with a scenic winter background, for only $5.00. There is no pre-registration needed for this.

On this same morning, you may go up to the cultural arts room to participate in the PTO FAMILY HOLIDAY SHOP.

Lots of family fun on Saturday, December 10th! We hope you will be joining us !!

Our school chorus, under the direction of Mrs. Richter, will be performing two concerts on Wednesday, December 14th. There will be a morning performance (9:30 am) for all of our PH students. There will also be an evening performance (6:00 pm) which is open to all Page Hilltop families, friends & community members. Both performances will be held in the high school auditorium.

If any of our parents are unable to attend the evening performance, due to work commitments and/or childcare responsibilities, they are welcome to attend the morning performance.

Our after-school chess club, under the direction of Ms. Cubero, held its first get-together last week and it was a huge success. All of the involved students were observed having a great time!

If you lived in Buffalo, this question would have already been answered. We are starting to see the return of cooler temperatures and snow won't be too far behind.

When do YOU think the first significant snowfall will arrive? All PH students are invited to submit their guesses and enter the "Annual Page Hilltop Snow Guessing Contest". All the children need to do is send a note to Mr. Deppe, including their NAME, TEACHER & DATE of the first snowfall.

To be considered "significant snowfall", there must be at least 1" of snow on the ground.

ALL guesses must be submitted BEFORE this actual snowfall arrives.

Our school store is up and running. Students may visit the school store during their lunch on Fridays. All items can be purchased using cash or PAWS tickets. Visit us this Friday to check out the new merchandise.

Last Tuesday Page Hilltop teachers & staff went on a turkey hunt! Mr. Deppe and Mr. Lutinski had hidden 25 little turkeys (pictures) around the school and staff were challenged to find them. The first turkeys began showing up in the office before school began. Teachers also showed up during their lunchtimes with more "captured" turkeys. Each turkey found earned their "hunter" a gift card prize, courtesy of our wonderful PTO. There was a choice of cards from Target, Amazon, Starbucks & Dunkins. Note: at this time there is still one lone turkey hiding in the school!
