Ms Williams Lanier Middle School's Social Worker | An Introduction
Hi everyone! My name is Dionne Williams, and that's Dionne (Dee-on) like Dionne Warwick! 😉 I am the new social worker for Lanier Middle School, and I am so excited to be here!
I'm originally from the Mississippi Delta, and I went to Mississippi State in Starkvegas to receive my Bachelor's in Social Work with a minor in African American Studies followed by my Master's from the University of Georgia also in Social Work. I loved being a bulldog so much that I just had to go and be a bulldawg the second time! But I must say, I'm a cowbell ringing, maroon-bleeding bulldog at heart (sorry to my die-hard UGA folks).
Some fun facts about me: I'm fluent in American Sign Language; my favorite color is blue in all its shades; any food that is Creole or originating from New Orleans is my favorite; I did cheer and dance in middle and high school (To say I loved it would be an understatement); interior design is my creative outlet; and I proudly come from a family of educators, public servants, farmers, and military all from the 'Sip (short for Mississippi).
I'm at Lanier Middle twice a week on Wednesdays and Fridays, and my office is located on the first floor, Room 1.173. Stop by and say hi! I'm never too busy for a smiling face. 🙂 I'm thankful to be a part of the Ranch. Go Longhorns!

In our first offering we begin with Getting to know your Chromebook. Topics include:
- Power Button
- The Keyboard
- The Touchpad
- The Shelf
The GCPS 1:1 Initiative and where to find additional resources
* We currently are waiting for these sleeves to come in. When they arrive we will issue a protective sleeve to each student at Lanier Middle School. Until then please help you student with using their bookbag to house their device.
Need to Contact Someone at Lanier Middle School?
If you need to reach out via email to your child's teacher, or any other staff member, please see the link on the LMS Website under Our School > Email a Staff Member. Once you select the grade level or other area, you will find an email address you can copy and paste or just click on the Email link. This will put you in direct contact with whom you need to talk to. While we have the Email us link at the bottom of our website, it may not get answered as quickly as using the direct links.
Student Drop-off | 8:50 AM
8:50 AM is the official start of school and when students are allowed to enter the building. The exception to this is if they are participating in an early morning activity or coming in for tutoring with a teacher on their scheduled day.
Students who are participating in an activity or attending tutoring will need to be dropped off prior to 8:15 AM but not before 8:05 AM. Students will be released to those activities or those teacher's who are holding tutoring that particular day at 8:15 AM. Students arriving after this time will not be permitted to attend their morning activity or attend tutoring.
Looking for fun, creative, outgoing, organized parents to help in our PBIS stores!
Our PBIS stores are located on each grade level floor and contain items for students to purchase with their positive behavior points earned in class. The stores are open every Friday between 8:50-9:30. We need parent help in keeping them organized and well presented as well as help in managing our student customers on Friday mornings. We plan to have our stores open for business starting the first Friday in September. If you have time on Friday mornings to help us cover the stores or if you have a flair for merchandising and store setup, we would love to have your help. If you are interested, please contact Dr. Diaz, our PBIS Coach, at 770-271-5123.
If you would like to contribute to the PBIS store please use this wish list from Amazon
