School Lockdown Drill: October 6/ Great American Shake Out: October 19
I am writing you early this week because this Friday we will be having our first practice lockdown drill. It is an unfortunate reality that we need to prepare for something like this but it is important to do so. The way we explain it to our younger children is this: when we have a fire drill we walk in a line to the big playground, when we have an earthquake drill we go under our tables and hold onto a table leg, when we have a lockdown drill we go to somewhere safe in our classroom and are very quiet. We explain to them that something outside is happening and the grown ups need to make it safe again so we can all go outside. Please feel free to make an appointment with me if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Ms. Delgado
Principal
