Assessments
Academically, we use the Aimsweb Plus assessment. Your child will work on this assessment with an RTI provider or on their computer depending on their grade level. Aimsweb is a nationally normed assessment that will be administered in September, February, and June. This universal screener aims to monitor the acquisition of foundational literacy and math skills and helps identify students likely to need additional assistance to increase academic success. Your child's teacher will also administer assessments throughout the year to assess how students are doing with grade level curriculum provided within the classroom.
Socially and emotionally, we use the BIMAS-II (Behavior Intervention Monitoring System). This assessment, completed by your child's teacher, is a measure of behavioral function and social, emotional skills in children. It is useful for universal screening to make sure all students are supported.

Meet Mrs. Toth and Miss Ramsey
Taylor Ramsey joined Fricano as the assistant principal in 2022. She has experience as an elementary teacher and leader in many curriculum and program roles over the past 10 years. Miss Ramsey loves to work with students here at Fricano on their love of school and showing expected behaviors to help keep our school safe. Personally, she enjoys spending time with her family, especially in the Finger Lakes at her family's cottage.
Please don't hesitate to call Mrs. Toth or Miss Ramsey at 716-210-2103. We are excited to collaborate with you to help your child(ren) find the most success in the beginning of their school journey!
