Monday (9:15-10:15): Student Technology Training, Distribution and Sign-on
Tuesday (9:15-10:15): Star Reading
Wednesday (9:15-10:15): I-ready Math Screener
Thursday (9:15-10:15): I-Ready Math Screener
Friday (9:15-10:15): I-Ready Math Screener
ELA and Math Teachers please be prepared to complete make-ups in small groups during your academic periods. If you need support please reach out to Mrs. Renfus, Testing Coordinator and she will assist you with a pull-out team to support completion of the screeners.
Update:
Please be flexible as we get the student technology out.
Please note the following:
- 6th and part of 7th will be able to complete the Student Technology Training, Distribution, and sign-on as described above.
- The remaining 7th teachers will be able to complete the student technology training, distribution, and sign-on the last hour of the day on Monday.
- 8th you will be delayed a day.

United Way Fundraiser 8/8/24 - 8/22/24
Student Options
Monday: Students are allowed to wear crocs and hats for a donation of $1 each.
Tuesday: Students are allowed to dress in their favorite outfit as long as there are no skin showing or inappropriate saying on clothing for $3.
Wednesday: Purchase from the snack cart.
Thursday: Purchase from the shack cart.
Friday: Students are allowed to dress in their favorite outfit as long as there are no skin showing or inappropriate saying on clothing for $3.
Adult Options
- Appling has a goal of $2100 to meet and 100% staff donation. Please utilize the pledge form and do payroll deduction or just give the cash to Mrs. Person.
- Do you want to wear Jeans and /or Joggers (must be school appropriate) for 2 weeks? This is possible for a donation of $5. This is in addition to the first bulleted item.
- Would you like to win a GOOSE (Get out of school early) pass? This pass will allow you to come in late two hours or leave two hours early. There will be 7 passes given out. In order to be a part of the drawing you need to buy a ticket for $1. The more tickets you buy the higher your chances of winning. The drawing will occur over 7 days.
Administrative Support Team Monday's 1:00-2:45
Appling's Core Team will begin meeting on Monday's from 1:00 -2:45 p.m. with our Dr. Willaford, Executive Officer, Ms. Pate, State Effectiveness Specialist, and Dr. Davis, State Instructional Specialist.

- Mrs. Person will respond to the needs of the building and notify Admin only in case of an emergency. The AST team will assist with restroom support, hallway traffic, and front office needs.
I will meet with the AST Team on Monday Morning to answer any questions.

Week 2 is here! We got this #oneappling!
This newsletter is filled with a variety of information that will guide our work this week.
- Supervision Teachers please send your Student Technology Technician to the media center Monday Morning for training with Mrs. Afful.
- Stand-up (Core Team) begins on Monday at 8:15-8:25 in Counselor's Conference Room.
- Leadership Team 4:30-5:15 in Room 630(Admin, Coaches, Counselors, Cluster Leaders, and Department Leaders).
- Please note that we have a Faculty Meeting on tomorrow after school ay 4:30 via teams. Please make sure your cameras are on and in the cluster leader's room.
- If your Microphone is functional the expectation is to wear it daily.
- It is the expectation that you read your email at least twice a day.
- Connections Teachers and any teacher that missed the TKES Orientation I will have another session next week.
- Print a copy of your certificate and give to Mrs. Green if you have not done so.
- I have emailed the fundraising spreadsheet please complete it and send back to me and Mrs. Person as soon as possible.
- Implement and Follow-up on the " The Appling Way Guidance Documents for Day One". Raiders it is All Hands-on Deck"
- Please do not suffer in silence. Tell our Leaders what you need!
- Sub Binders are due by September 3rd or earlier if you have a planned absence prior to this time.
- Look Fors Monday 12th: Student Greeter, Completed Instructional Framework, Appling Routines, Morning Meetings and Leadership Jobs posted, cleanliness and organization of rooms and smooth transitions.

- Teacher Clarity Professional Learning with Dr. Davis and Mr. Driskell August 23 during connections.
- Engagement Professional Learning with Dr. Davis and Coaches August 13th. All faculty and Staff that works in the classroom with students are expected to attend during Planning times.
- Middle Ga Resa Check-in Clinic on September 13th. 'What do you need help with"
- GLRS Cot-eaching Modeling August 27th (Baseline) with Dr, Davis
- AMS Faculty and Staff have a Leader in Me Coaching session of September 23rd during each PLC Times.
- AMS Faculty and Staff have a meeting with Human Resources on September 30th from 4:30-5:15. Please start making arrangements now to attend.
2024-2025 Employee Handbook
Employee accountability is a necessity for school-improvement as well as the expectation from Human Resources. The district provides us an Employee Handbook to ensure alignment across the district. Please refer back to this handbook as often as necessary.
We will focus on three specific areas of the handbook regularly to ensure we all have a common understanding as a BCSD Employee. Our first Focus areas are
