Principally speaking
As we begin the new school year we are very pleased to welcome all of our students, we especially want to welcome new members of the Lincoln community. We hope that you will soon agree that Lincoln is truly a special place. It was great to see everyone Wednesday evening, thank you to our PTO for organizing the pizza party and popsicle get together.
We are pleased to welcome new staff members to our school. Our new hald day kindergarten teacher Mrs. Granquist, our new 4th grade teacher, Ms. Anderson, our new art teacher Mr. Potter, our new second PE teacher Ms. Cesario, our new school psychologist Ms. Sutherland, our new position of special education instructional coach Ms. Tomaselli, our new OT Ms. Milewski, and our new part time resource teacher Ms. Fowler. Again in our future Lincoln Bulletins we will have a section dedicated to getting to know our staff.
Next week our staff will return on Thursday to kick off the new school year, our district theme is the district strategic commitment which is Together Building Pathways of Excellence. Thursday we will also welcome families during our supply drop off from 4:00-6:00, this is more of an open house format, feel free to come in drop off school supplies and meet your teacher and visit your classroom. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for our first day of school, Monday August 14; doors open at 7:50. Students will walk directly to their rooms, parents will remain outside of the building the first day of school. I will give more specifics on drop off, but buses will drop off on Indiana so that road will be closed to traffic. If you plan to park you are welcome to park on the streets or the library parking lot and walk over, please use the cross walk. If you are dropping off the car line will once again be on the north side of our building wrapping around the front on 6th street. Students are able to enter any of our three doors, although it is recommended on the first day to have first grade enter the front door on the first day they will be greeted by their teacher, kindergarten will enter the south doors also greeted by their teachers and 2-5 can enter which ever door they prefer and head right up to their classrooms.
Bus Transportation and Schedules
Bus route schedules will be made available on e-link on August 7, 2023 at noon for all grade levels. This information will include the inbound and outbound route number, the location and time of pickup and drop-off for each route, the ID number of the bus, and the days of the week the bus will run.
Visit the e-Link page for instructions for how to login.
Kindergarten Health information
Below is a letter from Wendy Landers our Certified School Nurse, reminding all kindergarten families of the records that need to be turned into school prior to the first day of school. You can bring these to Backpack Night on Thursday, 8/10 from 4-6PM, or the office any week day between 8:00am and 3:00pm. This is important to ensure your child is not excluded from school.
Lincoln Garden-Help Wanted!
In May, our Lincoln first grade classes helped plant our Lincoln Pollinator Garden at the St. Charles Public Library. With the help of our Lincoln families, the garden has been flourishing over the summer!! Our sunflowers have started to bloom, the cherry tomatoes are ripening and pollinators have been spotted in our garden. Make sure to check out our Lincoln Garden the next time you visit the library!
We can also use help watering our garden. Please click the link to sign up!
Family Contact Info - Please verify for your family!
District 303 would like to remind families to make sure the contact information you’ve provided is up-to-date. We want to ensure you’re getting timely alerts on important notifications.
Prior to the start of class, District 303 will send test messages through its mass communication system to the contact information you have on file (email, text and phone). This is the way the District and your child’s school(s) contact you when sending mass messages simultaneously.
Visit the Home Access Center website for information on how to view and edit your contact settings.
View Notification Preferences/Enable Text Messages
District 303 will send notifications to families through the ParentLink system by text message, phone call and email based on your settings. Parents/guardians can view and edit their contact settings through the Home Access Center.
To receive timely emergency communications, we strongly encourage families to enable text notifications. For most people, this is the fastest way to receive and view important messages. Here’s how:
- From the HAC main menu, select the “registration” tab to view your contact settings
- Select the “edit” button to change your contact settings
- To enable text message notifications, enter your cell phone number in the Cell/Text field
- Select the “save” button
Please call the Attendance Line to Report an Absence
