Welcome (back) to Unity Reed HS!
2020-2021
Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to Unity Reed High School and the 2020-2021 school year! Whether you are about to graduate or just starting out – I'm excited to work with each of you! The beginning of the year can be an exciting yet stressful time filled with possibilities and this year is unlike any other. In the Counseling Department, it is our responsibility to help each student get off to their best start. I want to take this time to (re)introduce myself and let you know a few things about the services I offer as a school counselor.
About Me
This is my third year at Unity Reed High School and my 5th year as a School Counselor. I am passionate about mindfulness, trauma informed care and social justice. I live in Manassas with my husband, three exhausting little boys and my Boston Terrier, Jobin.
Like many of you, I am nervous about balancing the upcoming school year - working full time, overseeing my child's education and staying healthy. I hope that we can come together as a community to lift up and support one another through these complicated times.
It is an honor to be a part of the Unity Reed family - there is truly none like it!

Confidentiality
Confidentiality is a valuable aspect of the counseling relationship, however it is my obligation to inform you if I believe your child is in danger or may harm someone else. In other situations I encourage students to disclose their thoughts/feelings/experiences with you and I use my best judgment as to whether confidentiality needs to be broken. I believe giving students the space to share with you on their own terms can build trust, confidence and independence.
PWCS school counselors recognize that students and parents or guardians have a right to know the limits of confidentiality. Please click here to see PWCS Regulation 651-2 regarding information on the confidentiality of student-disclosed information.
