Revised Health and Safety Guidance

The Department of Education's COVID-19 Health and Safety Guidance has been updated and posted to the HIDOE website. Click the above link to view.

The latest updates are based on the Department of Health and CDC's updated guidance for K-12 schools and take effect today, Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2022. Please disregard the guidance provided from the Aug. 16 Parent Bulletin.

Here are the main updates that impact Waikiki School.

Isolation and exposure protocols are aligned with the updated DOH Isolation and Exposure Guidance for K-12 Schools (released August 15, 2022). Quarantine following exposure to COVID-19 in or out of school is no longer required.

Notifications of exposure are only required if students and staff stay in the same space

throughout the day. All COVID-19 cases at schools will continue to be reported on the

Department’s dashboard (bit.ly/HIDOE-COVID-Dashboard).
