Spring Graduation & Financial Aid Night
Spring Graduates,
The application for CPCC graduation is now open. You must apply for graduation to receive your degree. If you will complete your degree requirements this spring, the application deadline is March 25. If you will complete your degree requirements in the summer, the application will open May 1. The application can be accessed through your My College account.
FINANCIAL AID NIGHT
CPCC is hosting a Financial Aid Night on February 25 at 6:30. This presentation is specifically for Harper MCHS students and their families. This is a great way to learn about the FAFSA application and the variety of financing opportunities available to help students pay for college. The event will be in the Harper IV building in room 310.

Volunteer Opportunities at Atrium Health Rehabilitation
This volunteer opportunity is a great way to make a difference in the community and gain a better understanding of the roles within healthcare. Volunteer activities vary and could include the following:
- Front Desk Guest Ambassadors
- Comfort Rounders
- Guest services
- Nursing unit assistance
- Helping therapists during physical, occupational and speech therapies
- Helping during recreational therapy and patient leisure activities

Carolinas Rehabilitation Shadowing Program
This opportunity offers shadowing/observation hours with various disciplines such as physical therapy, occupational therapy and nursing and can provide a maximum of 16 hours of shadow time.
To Apply:
- Fill out the application packet.
- Review the HIPAA compliance and privacy module and complete posttest.
- Shadow Time Validation.
- Follow instructions in the application packet to return all materials to Volunteer Services at Carolinas Rehabilitation.
Bank of America Student LeadersĀ®
Three-hundred students will be awarded paid summer internships with local nonprofits such as Boys and Girls Clubs of America and Habitat for Humanity and participate in a national leadership summit in Washington, D.C. The Student Leaders Summit focuses on skill building and creating a more civically engaged society.

British Study Abroad Scholarship
What: The British American Business Council of North Carolina sponsors the ACS British Studies program, a twelve-day study/travel visit to the United Kingdom that strives to bring British history to life by enabling students to explore and connect with 400 years of British history. Up to four, fully paid scholarships will be awarded to Charlotte-Mecklenburg school district students who apply and are selected to attend.

Featured Scholarships
The SECU Foundation People Helping People Scholarships are providing a minimum of at least one scholarship valued at $10,000 to Harper Middle College.
- Must be an SECU member or is eligible for membership through a parent/guardian
- Must be a US citizen and resident of North Carolina
- Must be attending one of the 16 UNC system universities
- Must have demonstrated scholastic achievement with a 2.5 or higher unweighted GPA
- Must have demonstrated leadership, excellence of character, integrity and community involvement
- Must file FAFSA as part of the application

CGCS-Bernard Harris Math and Science Scholarship Program
Four scholarships for two boys and two girls, with a value of $5,000 each, will be awarded in May 2020 to two Black and two Hispanic students. Applicants must be accepted for full time enrollment at a four-year college or university in the next academic year and pursuing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).

Harper students please make sure to pay all outstanding lunch fees before graduation. If you are not sure if you have a fee please come by the office and speak with Mrs. McClurkin.
