RMHS Weekly Update
November 12th, 2023
Wishing a very Happy Veteran's Day to all those that have or are currently serving! Thank you to the Student Council for putting together such a moving and impactful Veteran's Day assembly this week. Great work all around!
Congratulations to our weekly High Five and the RMHS Marching Band!
Huge Congratulations to the RMHS Marching Band!
The RMHS Marching Band won the NESBA DIVISION 1 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP on Sunday November 5th at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Lawrence. This is Reading's third straight state championship! We could not be happier with the way the students performed and conducted themselves throughout this season. In addition to the overall high score and gold medal, the band took home the awards for: Best Visual, Best Percussion, Best Overall Effect, and Best Music.
The RMHS Marching Band would like to give a big thank you to the dedicated marching band staff and parents who make this possible. Click to watch their performance from the October 28 “home show” hosted at RMHS.

The RMHS Drama Club presents Something Rotten, a comedy in which two brothers set out to write the world’s first musical in this hilarious mash-up of sixteenth-century Shakespeare and twenty-first-century Broadway! Set in the 1590s, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star known as "The Bard." When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical. But amidst the scandalous excitement of opening night, the Bottom Brothers realize that reaching the top means being true to thine own self, and all that jazz. November 11-19 at the RMHS William E Endslow Performing Arts Center. Details and tickets at RMHSDrama.org

Attendance Update
There will be an attendance competition among grades 9-12 for the month of November. The class with the best attendance for the month of November will get a celebratory breakfast the first week or December.
The goal of the attendance competition is to raise awareness among students about the importance of attending school regularly and of being on time. It is in no way suggesting that a student should attend school if running a fever or medically excused from school.
