Thank you for a great start to the school year! It has been so nice to pop into classrooms and see lots of happy, engaged learners. Here are a few key updates from my video message:
- Thank you for being flexible and patient as we settle into the new routine of arrival and dismissal. We have continued to make small adjustments and as a result our dismissal of walkers now only takes less than 10 minutes. Dismissal starts at 3:10 so parents and guardians do not need to be here earlier than 3:00.
- We have been reviewing the expectations for the cafeteria during KCR time. It's been a new adjustment to have students back sitting with each other and with multiple grades in the cafeteria. Ask your child what they know about expected behaviors in the cafeteria! This week we are focusing on recess expectations.
- Open House is coming up next week! 1st grade will be from 6:00-6:30 on Sept. 20, 2nd grade will be from 6:30-7:00 on Sept. 20. This night will be for parents and their children to attend. 3rd grade will be from 6:00-6:30 on Sept. 21, 4th grade will be from 6:30-7:00 on Sept. 21. This night will be for parents only. PK and K will be having their Open House in October.
- Enrichment sign-ups went out today. If you want your child to participate in an enrichment, you need to sign up by Sept. 20.
- A big thank you to the Mendon Senior Center! They delivered bags full of extra supplies to each classroom today. We are grateful for their support and donations!
- Students are enjoying picking out a free book on their birthday from the birthday book cart in the office!
I forgot to mention in my video that Tuesday night is our first PTO meeting at 6:30 in the library. Hope to see many of you there. We are also excited and grateful for the Clough Classic Fundraiser this Friday. The money raised will help us to provide some great enrichment programs and other awesome things for our school and your children.
