Human Rights Day-December 10th
On the 10th of December 1948, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights or UDHR. Every human being is entitled to the same human rights and fundamental freedoms.
These rights are inherent and universal because you were born with them regardless of your race, gender, religion, culture, or the country where you live. These human rights are inalienable because they cannot be taken away from you.
A great way to introduce children to the concept of Human Rights is through a powerful book.
We Are All Born Free by Amnesty International is a beautiful book for children and adults; it celebrates the Universal Declaration of our rights with illustrations by internationally-renowned artists and illustrators.

Securly Parent Portal
Woodland School District's primary focus is keeping students safe online. We've implemented a tool that filters inappropriate content for all students. You've been invited to join the Parent Portal to receive notifications from Securly regarding your child's online usage. Use the following links to learn more about Securly.
This is a great investment in your child's safety online. Please see the resources below for more information.

End 2023 with School Spirit Days!
Let's end 2023 with some fun style! These spirit days are set for the last week leading up to our winter break. They are all optional, but we did try to pick days that you would be able to do with the items you have at home. Modify them as you like, the idea is to have some fun together as we close out the calendar year.

Healthy Habits for December!
As we head into the month of December, we know this month can be very busy and sometimes stressful for students and families. Schedule changes, special gatherings and getting to bed late, are all factors that can make us feel overwhelmed or not at our best. We put together some easy ideas for you to try as a family to have the best December ever! Click on the picture below to see the activities in English and in Spanish.
Winter Weather in the W! There is a special part of our D50 webpage that is dedicated to winter weather. It reviews our eLearning plan and provides important information regarding how the decision is made to close school and how the process works. Winter is here, so check it out at this link today!
Prepare Your Child for Outdoor Recess
It's also a great idea to practice with your child on how to put on all of their gear. We want to encourage independence with not only our winter gear, but tying shoes, buttoning pants and other daily routines. They are so proud when they master these skills!
